“Good location, nice property”

Excellent location. Come by train Minatomirai Line, direct connect to hotel. Hotel room is good. Staffs are nice. Breakfast is ok, member lounge is great. If you stay a few days, you can expect the same foods almost 95% same food lines. The rest is wonderful.

My stay was top notch from check-in to checkout. Myuki checked me in and she did amazing job of being courteous as well as acknowledging that I was on a birthday trip. She even helped me book a flight because I couldn't translate or figure out the information. Haruka checked me out and I learned that she's my birthday twin.

Huge property. Numerous conference venues right next door. Excellent location. Great Ocean views. Beautiful architecture. Worst bed and pillows. These should have been changed five years ago. Instead, the hotel management slipped a thin memory foam mattress protector on the mattress and added a memory foam pillow (which they are trying to sell through in-room advertising to customers as the next best thing since sliced bread). Tricky housekeepers trying to run out the clock so as not to clean our room. They had the same menu in the guest lounge every day for breakfast and dinner. They were kind to warn us which foods had MSG/Acinomoto (monosodium glutamate) and accommodate us. Polite and efficient lounge employees. There are two convenience stores about a block away and vending machines next to the boardwalk. Apart from the poor quality of sleep and English proficiency issues this is a great hotel.

This hotel is very dated and could do with a makeover, starting with replacing the wallpaper, which still reeks of cigarette smoke, despite the non-smoking sign. This hotel is very dated and could do with a makeover, starting with replacing the wallpaper, which still reeks of cigarette smoke, despite the non-smoking sign. The hallways are musty and you notice the obnoxious smell once you enter your room. We were checked in efficiently but not welcomed warmly. A shame, because generally the staff were really friendly. Breakfast had a huge range and if you asked for anything extra, like proper thick pillows, they came promptly. The rooms are certainly large and we had a great view of the harbour, but we could hear those above us tromping around in their room for many hours. The hotel lacks atmosphere, the restaurants are too expensive and you could fire a cannon through the reception level and not hit anybody. IF I ever return to Yokahama I would stay in a more modern hotel with uptodate facilities e.g. a walk in shower. The reception staff could spend a few hours at the Groove Hotel in Shinzuku and see how to welcome new guests.
