Our party of four had two rooms on the third floor facing over Takayama. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable with adequate storage etc. and were spacious. The beds were quite firm, but still a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom is quite small, which wasn't a particular problem. The very high step into the bathroom was the problem. Easy to fall down it, on a middle of the night bathroom visit. Some people with mobility problems might well struggle to get in and out of the bathroom. The hotel provides Japanese style pyjamas for visits to the onsite onsen. We used the onsen both nights we stayed at the hotel, and found it very relaxing experience. The water is not from a natural spring though. The hotel is a distance from town, so you would need to utilise the shuttle bus service. We found that this was very handy and had no problems fitting in with the schedule. We ate at the hotel for the first night after a late-ish arrival, and found the buffet dinner quite adequate, although food is not kept particularly hot. The buffet breakfasts were also enough to keep us going for the morning. Overall, we had no problems with the hotel. It was the best place we could find when we booked.

The hotel is big hotel which is outside the city. So to get to the city you have to take the free bus or a taxi. Because the last shuttle back to the hotel goes already at 7 pm, we had for going back take the taxi. The room would big enough, but somehow the bathroom was almost going to forget, so it's really small. You can't almost not turn around in the bathroom. The hotel would also have a onsen, but i did not try them. The bed was pretty hard, probably the most hard one we had in Japan. Positive to mention is the breakfast, it was the best on the whole Japan-Tour.

“Short tour”

Small room but it is probably normal in Japan. The toilet is a small prebuilt box. Small lobby and one elevator, which is okay if you didn’t travel as a tour group. Free WiFi. The Onsen is the smallest Onsen I’ve ever seen; it can fit 3-4 people. Breakfast is okay.

The location from the hotel is 4 km out of the citycentre of Takayama. Luckily, the hotel provides a free shuttlebus from Takayama Station to the hotel. The location from the hotel is 4 km out of the citycentre of Takayama. Luckily, the hotel provides a free shuttlebus from Takayama Station to the hotel. The hotel is located on a hill and you get a really beautiful view over Takayama from your room! The rooms are the biggest ones we had in Japan. They even provided a couch! Als the rooms were very clean and provided tea. A big plus is the Onsen at the centre floor of the hotel. Traditional Japanese and very nice! My hint to you: do not eat in this hotel! No dinner, no breakfast. You won’t get sick or anything because the hygiene is really good, but all the food tastes very crappy.
