Location: right next to JR line (Osaka Loop line) making it so easy to make Osaka as a base and go to Kyoto, Hiroshima etc. Right next to Osaka Castle. A little dated but clean. We requested an air purifier/ humidifier which they brought over in 2 minutes. Beds were very comfortable. We had a triple room. Room size was big which was one of the main reasons for picking this hotel over there Thera. Bed sizes were long which was very important. Amenities were great. Service was simply world class. Breakfast was very good. Open till 10am. Concierge desk was great too. Taxis are always available there at different time of the day. We found that Taxis were not that expensive allowing door to door travel rather than 10-20 minute walk each time you take public transportation. This helped a lot when you are doing 10-20k step days as is. I was a little nervous that this was a little out of the way when I booked it. I’m glad we picked this place. I’d pick this hotel any day! Great management great service. So impressive!

Although we only stayed one night, the staff at this hotel made us wish we had longer in Osaka. They go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and take customer service to a five star level. The hotel is well appointed and has amazing views of the Castle, really the reason we initially chose this hotel. We were tired from multiple days of travel and had only packed casual clothing, even looking like road warriors they were extremely gracious and accommodating. We decided to eat at their Teppan Grill Keyaki. The Assistant Manager of the hotel went out of his way to make reservations for us. Keyaki is an intimate restaurant with only 18 seats I believe all with a stunning view of the Castle. Let me just say that this was easily one of the top 5 meals of our life. The service was impeccable and the Abalone, Kobe and Saga Beef were all to die for. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The beef literally melted in your mouth. Thank you New Otani Osaka, we will be back!

This hotel is not a 5 star hotel to western hotel ratings. My first impression this morning of the utter chaos at breakfast in the main dining room was simply appalling. The restaurant was packed and initially we were given a ticket outside to wait. Not a great start. The staff were simply overwhelmed with the amount of people pushing, shoving and piling as much food as they could onto their canteen style trays. The western options had run out. When I enquired if anymore bacon was going to be replenished I was told quite abruptly to wait. I waited and waited but nothing materialised. An Indian family sitting next to where I was standing told me not to bother as they had given you writing. I searched the restaurant extensively for cutlery but couldn't find any. I asked a waitress who looked at me plainly and obviously couldn't understand. When the western food was eventually replenished once the crowds had left it was tasty but by then I'm afraid they had lost my vote. If you cannot cope during the most challenging times then you are not catering for all customers needs and certainty should not be advertising yourself as a 5 star hotel. What a shame as my first morning's excitement and experience was hindered by a lack of customer service, and certainly a lack of western style breakfast, together with a canteen style atmosphere likened to a crowded train with people pushing and shoving you out of the way. I will probably not bother having breakfast for the remainder of my stay as frankly It isn't worth the hassle. This is a harsh honest review but one that is well deserved considering the experience I had this morning. 5 star should be flawless experience and this was far from it. As I said in my review if you cannot cope during your most busy period when you are pushed to your maximum then you cannot claim to be a 5 star establishment.
