“Great hotel”

Fantastic luxury hotel. Great service. Only feedback is to have better coffee in the room. Small thing. We went to the Starbucks downstairs every day. The view was amazing. Great view of the city Thank guy again!!!!!!!! We will definitely be back

“Decent stay. Overall okay.”

We stayed in Junior Suite for 7 consecutive days -- both on regular and club floors. The hotel just launched club lounge service in June 2024. We stayed in Junior Suite for 7 consecutive days -- both on regular and club floors. The hotel just launched club lounge service in June 2024. Rooms shown on website look new and vibrant -- but the actual rooms were quite worn out, not so new. Furnitures were old and beds got hollowed in the middle just like old beds used by many hotels. Hotel staff were able to communicate well in English writing -- but not verbally. Only a few of them could speak English well and this posed a huge problem sometimes. Many of the staff were helpful, courteous and friendly -- esp. concierge, club lounge staff and staff trainees. However, some reception counter staff were difficult to deal with. They were not as helpful and hospitable as we expected. One was even quite impolite -- a man with eyeglasses working in the (early) evening shift. Would appreciate if management could oversee this matter. Extra towels and drinking water were provided as requested -- thank you. Club lounge food and beverage were okay. Mini cheesecake was tasty. Better and more varieties would be nice. Location was not that accessible to prime shopping malls. Needed to walk 5-7 minutes to train access. Only a convenient store and some restaurants and small shops (including Starbucks) at the back of hotel. Overall, we would rate 7 out of 10. Better reception staff's hospitality + better club lounge food and beverage + newer furnitures and fixtures would help improve rating a lot.

20th – 23rd August 2023 Osaka, Japan Hotel Hankyu International, Osaka I am going to put down random thoughts / comments as they spring up: - greeted by courteous staff upon arrival for check-in, however we could not make out if it was the floral arrangements or the air freshener spray they were using but there was a faint stuffy / musty smell billowing in the lobby - Pleasant, smiling, obliging staff yet are not very conversant in English so communication was not the most effective and took a while to get messages across --- not really ‘international‘ as the name of the hotel suggests. There was perhaps just one or two staff who could really communicate effectively in English - Emailed them for transportation advice but never heard from anyone , not until a family member who had arrived days earlier called them on our behalf and asked about the email inquiry did someone finally replied to it, unfortunately a tad too late cos we had already landed and had to figure things out ourselves - In fact, we dialled the front desk a few times for basic inquiries yet were often met with communication ( language ) problems - Suite on 29/F is spacious and clean and enjoys a nice view of Osaka through wide glass panels in both the living room and bedroom - Toiletries do not include body lotion, so we asked for one because our family in another room but on the 33/F and they had “GUERLAIN “lotions and shampoos etc. Called the front desk and they did not understand what body lotion is, only after a few change of staff did the term finally click. They then had to check if it was ok to give us one, and when they got back with a reply, they said 33/F is a luxurious floor and 29/F is not, so GUERLAIN body lotion is only reserved for ‘luxurious floor’. I stressed that GUERLAIN or not is not the point, all I asked for is some body lotion. Not wanting to be demanding / conceited or difficult, I explained that mine is a suite while my family member’s is a normal room although they were indoctrinated to the luxurious floor principle instead of being flexible, esp. when you calculate pricewise and sizewise a suite costs a lot more so I think it is not too much to ask for one small bottle of body lotion. Still they would not budge and it was after a long reasoning with someone who was more reasonable and flexible was I ultimately ‘granted’ one bottle. - Iron and ironing board were requested, and it took a long time for them to be delivered because it took a long time for the staff to eventually understand what these are. - Ditto for hangers. It is baffling to see how their staff, people actually hired to work in the hotel industry and manning the front desk inquiries, do not know such fundamental vocabulary - Their iron is “Panasonic “ but it was a common / shared comment that this particular model (cordless) is super inefficient as compared to those conventional ones that may not be the latest model yet dutifully serve the core purpose - Daily replenishment of basic vanity provision and a separate set of shampoo / body wash etc for male and female - Bath towels are clean, white and fluffy - Slippers are on the small side even for females; males have ½ their sole rubbing the floor - Rain shower and handheld shower in the bathroom, but the water jetting from the handheld shower is not ‘concentrated ‘, i.e. even though the pressure is rather powerful, it does not yield a most forceful, comfy effect for a relaxing shower - Shower drainage smooth and good that the cubicle is leakproof - Bottled water + tea sachets + coffee capsules replenished on a daily basis - Daily housekeeping and fresh white crispy clean bedding changed daily upon request - Lots of wall sockets and USB chargers in the suite - One telly in the living room and another in the bedroom - Sufficient lighting in the living room and bathroom but the bedroom is on the dim side, but it is okay if people go out the whole day and only return at night and ready for bed - Parking provided so if one has a car the hotel concierge will take care of it, at a fee - Two kinds of breakfast: continental and Japanese but they are not buffet style with most selections made to order, so guests do not get the most exciting meal selection - Hotel is at a rather good location—within 10-15 minutes’ walk to JR station, underground shops with easy links to shopping malls like Daimaru, Hankyu, LUCUA - Guests have to use electronic room key to access to floor, so this gives an added safety factor although it is generally very safe in Japan, and the hotel is in a safe neighbourhood
