We booked this hotel fairly close to our travel date as our other hotel let us down but this one didn't disappoint. We had two Standard Twin rooms and although the hotel is older, the rooms were still well maintained and presentable. The rooms were the most spacious of any we stayed in in Japan, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet. The bathroom was small but functional, a bit like a cruise-ship bathroom. The foyer was pleasant with plenty of seating and the free beer/spirits/soft drinks and ice cream in the afternoons/evenings was most enjoyable. The best part about this hotel is the location though. It really doesn't get any better than this. Right in the happening Dotonbori restaurant district and very close to the Namba stations (both Metro and JR) and the Shinsaibashi shopping area.

“Does exactly what it says on the tin.”

Stayed for one night recently. We booked this due to its good reviews and good location, but my expectations before arriving was set pretty low. How wrong was I. It is in a perfect location to explore Dotonbori with a Lawson's literally a few doors down. The rooms were excellent, clean, functionally and had all we needed for a short stay. The big surprise was that the staff were delightful and professional and very welcoming. We were also met on our arrival with a happy hour where we relaxed after a long journey to a couple of beers. We also hear that they were serving cup noodles later too, but didn't get a chance to do that. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel for a short stay in the Dotonbori area.

“Great place close to Dontobori lights and crowds”

This is a great relatively economical option for anyone wanting to be close to the busy bright area of dotonbori. The front desk was super on top of things and welcoming. Not all of our luggage had arrived and they immediately called us once our last piece did. They also called ahead to our next hotel to make sure they would accept luggage delivery and totally filled out our forms which I wasn't expecting. They have two laundry rooms, with self dispensing soap so no need to bring your own detergent. I typically use unscented stuff because of allergies and had no problems with whatever detergent is used. Plan on two cycles of the dryer depending on what you're drying (had a couple pairs of jeans). Right now one load for a wash and then a dry is 400 yen total. They were able to break a smaller bill into coins for me at the desk. The laundry room also has a hot and cold water dispenser. And you can grab a hot water kettle for your room there. In the late afternoon and evenings you can grab drinks from the lobby, and for a half hour later in the evening they have decent instant ramen bowls available (breakfast for us!). There's a lawsons at the end of the block. Five minutes walk to the train station. It's just on the edge of the extremely busy dotonbori area so you can walk a couple blocks to get to the bright lights and hustle and bustle, and also it's not quite in the center of it all which is nice at the end of the day. Room itself had three beds lined up right next to each other across the room with very little space between them. The bathroom has a decent step up from the main room and is tiny. We are not a particularly tall family so nothing about the side was a problem but I could imagine this could be tough for anyone taller in terms of general space with luggage. The window opened which in the spring I appreciated...it gave us a bit more air circulation though the HVAC definitely worked well. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Rooms were comfortably sized (compared to Tokyo's micro-efficiency rooms for similar price range). Lives up to the oddball kitschy-grotesqueness of this district of Osaka. Pros: great location (foot/subway), good sized rooms, funny things (for students/kids) like free ice cream/drinks/cup o'noodles in the evening Cons: Not as clean as other hotel stays this trip (bathroom vaguely unsanitary smelling 6/10 would be my rating) But all in all, pleasant enough for my tween and I.
