A very convenient hotel located next to the JR station, one of the Granvia Hotel Group, whose hotels are mainly based in Western Japan e.g. Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka; They are managed with the same concept, next to the JR stations or integrated within the stations, offering high quality standard. Very recommendable for any tourists visiting local touristic attractions.

“A reasonable hotel in the centre of town”

A nice hotel with western beds and some choice in food at breakfast. We ate out in the evening so can’t comment. The only criticism would be that they can’t provide laundry service at the weekends which seems strange in the 21st century

We stayed here for 2 nights while in Okayama. The location is perfect, right next to the train station, there is a walkway leading directly to the hotel and our high floor room looked down over the train tracks, and over to the distant hills. The room was rather small but clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had a bath as well as a shower. There are plenty of options in the nearby station and shopping malls for breakfast if your room package does not include it. The staff were friendly and helpful when we needed advice on how to get to various places.

The good: Excellent location right next to Okayama station and Aeon mall. Streetcar station also very close by. Rooms are well kept and clean. Quiet AC. Hotel staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious. The avreage: Breakfast buffet is a bit lacking. However breakfast gives a choice of 6 main dishes that are good. Pick a main dish and supplement witht the buffet is my advice. The buffet alone has only a basic selection so dont rely on that alone. The bad: Rooms have no safe. My room also had a very noisy air purifier/steamer that I had to turn off every day as staff kept turning it on. Wifi is not good enough. It fails on both signal strenght and speed as wifi doesnt cover the entire room evenly. If you want best signal strenght and speed then you need to set up camp right next to the hallway door or the bathroom. If you go into the room and sit on the bed or the sofa then strenght goes down to 1-2 bars and speed plummets. Also the max speed you can get is very variable. At evenings dont expect to get more than 20-30 mbps if you are lucky. And that is when sitting next to the door or in the bathroom with 3-4 bars. If you go into the room where you get 1-2 bars you can expect a drop of speed to 50% of whatever you had with 3-4 bars. So dont expect to spend the evening watching your favorite show in HD comfortably on the bed or on the sofa. The hotel seems to be aware of issues as they literally have informtion in your room that they cant help you if you get slow speeds. Guess thats cheaper than upgrading the wifi to give better signal strength and get some extra bandwidth into the building. Also the hotel seems to be in a weird location as 4G speeds also plummets if you are in the upper floors. I stayed on the 15th floor and had only 30mpbs with 4G. Thats 20% of the speed I got on the ground floor. So dont think you can use your motbile network instead of the wifi if you are on the higher floors. Also hotel charged me for changing from smoking to non smoking even thought they said months earlier price is the same. I only had booked smoking room since that was what they offered me when i contacted them at time of booking. At checkin I showed them earlier covnersation and they said they had non smoking room afterall. but now I had to pay a 10% fee to change to the non smoking room. The same room I asked for months earlier and they said was the same price.
