I was looking at any hotels, on the "front side" of Kyoto station, but in the end we had to look on the other side. And that was the best thing every!! My husband, job was to find the hotels for this trip to Japan. And he did a great job, on this hotel :D The hotel has a link to Avanti (next door) by an elevator, during opening times. And next door to Seven 11. It's across the road from the Kyoto station, making life easy. Now to the hotel, and room. We were greeted, on arrival by a very nice man. He asked if we was booking in, and got a member of lobby staff, to book us in. He was called away, by an customer asking about IC cards, and if he could use his one. With all the problems with IC cards at the time, I came over to help out (as we had some problems too). I left my husband to complete our check in. We totally forgot what kinda of room, we had looked at and booked. We were told that our room was ready, eventho we had arrived before check in time. So we went on up. And WOW!!! The room was great. Didn't look anything like, the photos on the site. Relaxing after our shinkansen ride from Tokyo, was a blessing. It was very clean, darkish with some of the lights on(I'll explain later). As our room backed up in to Avanti. We really didn't get much daylight, but that was ok. The lighting in the room was fine, and we kept the curtains closes anyways. Bathroom and toilet 🚽, are in separate (GREAT!!!). The bathroom, had a bath tub🛀(good size) with a shower🚿(combine). The bedroom area, had a table and two chairs near the window. A nice size television, on the opposite side of the beds (nice to watch tv in bed 😂). There is a wardrobe on one side of the television. And a cupboard with tea cups, glasses, kettle etc, and a fridge below on the other side of the television. Talking about Avanti, it was linked in kinda three ways. 1. The elevator from the hotel (only during opening hours). 2. Next to Seven-11 (ground floor). 3. An footpath outside the hotel ,downstairs (leads to the basement floor, and towards Kyoto station (underground)). The hotel is less than 5 minutes (traffic lights), across the road from Kyoto Station. So taking shinkansen, local trains, and any buses (local too), is super easy. Anyways back to the hotel. We spent 7 (seven) days there. And we also paid for breakfast as well. So we got umm breakfast passes with our room number on it (for everyday of the stay), which had to taken with us, when we pop down for breakfast. There is also a nice seating area, in front of the restaurant. We didn't really walked around the hotel, as we had a busy 6 days. Sum up, The hotel was a surprise, and great find. Did have a little problem with my bedding on the first night. That was all sorted, by the time we got back from the day out. The room was wow!!!! Customer service/ staff were great. Breakfast was buffet, and fresh and fast. We are happy to come back, and we will.

“Excellent hotel in good location”

This is an excellent hotel close to the main railway station and metro, which made it easy to explore Kyoto and further afield.. Staff very helpful, providing information about the Gion festival. Rooms very well equipped and comfortable.

This Hotel is next to Kyoto Station and outside, you can catch the Limo Bus from Kansai Airport. Booked into the 13th floor, where there is extra security level for entering into the floor. There is a lounge for water, coffee and soft drinks and all other stuffs you would need in the room. The room I had was funny, I think mainly due to a big pillar in the room. It was divided into 3 parts, the entrence with a small cupboard, a toilet, then the beds, and the 3rd part is the bathroom and a small table and fridge. It was just too narrow for me, but the location and the exclusivity was great!

“Great location and design, but rooms are too small”

Nice looking hotel, but rooms way too small. Triplet rooms were only available and there was not even enough space to even lay one down on the floor, let alone open one. Nice looking hotel, but rooms way too small. Triplet rooms were only available and there was not even enough space to even lay one down on the floor, let alone open one. The sanitaries are not given, and have to collect them from reception daily. My other point is that there are no bedside tables and only 2 of the 3 beds have access to charging ports, which are just suspended in mid air. There's no space to rest items/drinks except the headboard. However the view is nice and managed to sleep well. Great location, being next to Kyoto Avanti shopping center, the shinkansen station, and Don Quijote. However, breakfast is not included and had to go to the 7 Eleven next to it (connected right outside the door!)
