I will recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to stay centrally located. The station is also 3-4 mins away. There are 2 convinces store near by . For Indians there are 2 food options within 5 mins walk

Hotel is located 70 metres away from Shijo train station (exit 5). Using the train, the whole city of Kyoto is accessible easily. Attended a conference at the Kyoto international conference centre which was just 20mins via train. Hotel room is very small but clean and fine if you intend to spend much of the time out. Breakfast is Japanese style with very limited Western style food. Staff are helpful.

Not impressed with the check-in. I arrived early in the morning and dropped my bag. I asked when is the earliest to check in, the front desk staff said 2pm (as stated on the booking receipt). My second question to the staff was whether there’s a business center in the hotel which I can use. The answer is a terse “no”. Then I asked if there’s a restaurant or cafe in the hotel, again another terse “no” and then said there are some nearby. It is just appalling to see this kind of service here. I have had better experience when I stayed at their Himeji branch. I guess am not sure if their Hotel Manager are not reading this. But I hope the readers out there will make a more informed decision when they book this hotel. Given they are so restrictive on the check-in time, my advice is that if you happen to arrive town very early, spent a bit extra to book an extra night so you have the room ready or stay in the capsule hotel for a few hours to fight that jet lag. The rooms are reasonable 18m square for a standard double, which is good enough for one person and I assure you can open your suitcase flatly on the floor. It’s clean and full bathroom amenities equipped except for shower cap. Please bring your own if you need it. Drip coffee bags are given to you at the reception upon your arrival. Location is within a minute walk to the Shijo subway station. There isn’t a lift or elevator at that exit, you will have to drag your luggage up for at least 2 flights of staircases if you plan to use the subway to the hotel. Hailing a cab from the Kyoto could be a better option if you have a large piece of luggage and it is only 780 yen. 15 minutes walk to Daimaru or Nishiki Market. Hope this is useful.

If you love a good breakfast in the morning, while traveling, you’ll find yourself looking for a coffee shop nearby that sells breakfast. This was the worst breakfast. I think I’ve had since a motel six experience somewhere in the American boondocks. Any hotel that can make an actual pot of coffee and offer slice bread with a toaster is going to beat this one. The room was the epitome of Japanese miniaturization. In fairness, other hotels in Japan, including a Daiwa, were very good.
