Really nice, comfortable, quiet and extremely Japanese hotel. The staff were all excellent--from the front desk, to the housekeeping, to the breakfast buffet staff. We had a delightful junior suite, which was spacious, comfortable and quiet. It would be better if there were more English speaking staff. There was one front desk woman who spoke English, but not many more. They all tried to understand and to be helpful. Thank goodness for translation software. That's my only possible negative comment. Perhaps the hotel can hire a couple people with some English proficiency. Otherwise, a really excellent hotel

“A Lovely Stay with a Great Location”

A bit dated and a a little bit tired, but what a lovely hotel with large rooms and great location. Sitting areas in the room were wonderful, the onsen was very nice, we really enjoyed our stay here. Everything we needed for the two days we were in Kanazawa were within easy walking distance. It's location counts for a lot. We had a room that faced the castle though it was not high enough to let us look over the castle grounds. Still looking into the hillside at nature was a nice change for us. We never ate at the hotel because we thought the cost for breakfast (though I'm sure it would have been good) was high and we tended to wander the town for our other meals. Free shuttle back to the train station was nice but a little more information on how to catch it from the train station would have been nice.

Great hotel just 10 minute taxi from Kanazawa station. Perfect location in the middle of everything making it easy to walk to all attractions and tons of restaurants. Great hotel just 10 minute taxi from Kanazawa station. Perfect location in the middle of everything making it easy to walk to all attractions and tons of restaurants. Room feels brand new, very nicely decorated and comfortable. Bed is great, air con works, shower is perfect. Staff at front desk are very sweet, but English is limited. I'm sure that will improve over time as tourism from abroad continues to grow. This is the only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars as we had a small issue getting a taxi in the morning before their 10am shuttle service began. Do not hesitate to stay here, though. It's a great choice.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for four nights. The hotel is a bit of a trek from the train station, if you are walking with luggage, but the location can’t be beat for access to the two big sites in Kanazawa, the Castle and Kenrokuen. The front desk staff at the hotel were lovely. They were very well prepared and it was very nice to have staff that spoke English (although we could have muddled through with broken Japanese). They were prompt in getting us checked in and very helpful with their explanations of where things were situated in the hotel Our room was fine. Enough space for the two of us. There was some stains on the carpet, but other than that the room was immaculately clean. My one complaint about the room was the pillows. They were so hard. We find that most Japanese hotels offer very hard pillows and it makes for uncomfortable stiff necks in the morning. If there had been some nice fluffy pillows it would have been great We had a kaiseki dinner at the hotel’s restaurant one evening. It was excellent. The food was prepared and presented in a traditional fashion. The service was bar none and the food was delicious My only other complaint about the hotel was with regard to breakfast, and it was only one of the mornings. There are a lot of rules in place right now due to Covid and we were more than happy to follow the rules during breakfast to ensure everyone’s safety. However, on the Saturday morning we were there, it was busy and several other patrons did not feel the need to properly mask or wear the gloves that were offered, when at the buffet. There was one family in particular that had no masks, no gloves and were coughing and sneezing, as well as one other woman who did not wear gloves or a mask. As it was busy we could not grab the attention of the manager to inform him of their flagrant disregard for the “rules”. We opted to leave our breakfasts half eaten in order to preserve our health. The other three mornings we enjoyed breakfast without issue and everyone following the rules
