“Comfortable hotel”

The hotel is a normal hotel, it is good for staying like a week or less. Just normal and comfortable rooms with a friendly staff. They have a good view on Tokyo tower. The lobby is big. They have nice lounges and some services downstairs. The price range was ok.

I staid here in the beginning of October 2024 as part of a tour package I booked. The hotel outside is classy and the lobby follows suit. We had the lowest class of rooms as we didn't spend much time in the room other than to shower and sleep. The 5th floor, the carpet in the area with the elevators had a huge bump in the middle like the carpet doesn't fit the space. It wasn't a big deal but it did trip me up if I wasn't careful. The breakfast was included in our package and was good. There is a Lawson's in the basement which was great and convenient however the basement had a horrible smell. I can't quite put my finger on it but I have a very sensitive nose and it would have me dry heaving a few steps off the elevator. After fighting through it for a minute or two it was fine and the selection was great. I had frozen soup dumplings, we ate grapes several times, and my son got instant ramen that was decent. I had a Boss iced coffee every morning. Our room itself was so quiet, that was great. We heard no noise outside our room, even being right across from the elevators! The bathroom appeared to have no fan which led me to have to leave the door open to let some steam and heat out. There is thankfully a door between the bathroom area and small entrance hall, and the bathroom area affording some privacy. There is no overhead shower, this is weird for me being from the US, I have never run into this. There were two areas to place the hand held but neither allowed for staying in the water. One flooded the bathroom and the other hit the side of the shower where the soap was. There are drains in the bathroom floor but I wasn't expecting the water to go out of the tub and it soaked my towel and clothes the first night. We got 2 bottles of water daily which was a great help and the floor had a vending machine, ice maker, and microwave where the elevators were for easy access. We explored around the hotel and it was beautiful and peaceful. Overall, I recommend the hotel. Just be prepared for the shower.

“Good stay…”

Hotel locate in Shibakoen surrounded by Parks and Tokyo tower. The Tokyo Subway Station is nearby. The hotel offer shuttle service to Hamatsucho. Room was large and well equipped but it show its age and need renovation. Breakfast was great with full varieties.

“Mom 1964, Me 2024”

My mom stayed here in 1964 when it was new...opened in time for the Tokyo Olympics. I stayed here recently. The hotel is definitely old now, like me. My mom stayed here in 1964 when it was new...opened in time for the Tokyo Olympics. I stayed here recently. The hotel is definitely old now, like me. The property has gone through some renovation since then but due for another one. The room was clean. The staff friendly. Nothing to complain about. There is a convenience store in the basement level, which made it...well quite convenient. There were a number of nice restaurants in the hotel that I did not try out. The hotel is located in a neighborhood with lots of small restaurants. I enjoyed strolling the neighborhood....I am sure you will find nice and cheap places to eat. The hotel is also right next to some parks and shrines. This is a great place for a morning run. The neighborhood felt like a quaint small city and not in the middle of one of the largest and the most modern cities in the world. Of course, the best part of the hotel is the location right next to the Tokyo Tower. I chose a high-floor room with a view of the Tokyo Tower. It is quite amazing how close to the tower the hotel is. At night, the lit tower is quite amazing. While I was there, there was a small exhibit in the lobby of staff uniforms throughout the history of this venerable hotel. I could imagine some of these worn by the staff while my mom stayed here. This is definitely not the Park Hyatt or the Mandarin Oriental both of which are my favorites when I am in Tokyo...but I loved the atmosphere of the old hotel...and a reminder of where post-war Tokyo came from.
