My partner and I stayed at the Excel Hotel in Shibuya and loved its convenient location. It's right in the heart of Shibuya, with easy access to Shibuya Crossing and many shops and restaurants. The nighttime view from our room was stunning. However, the room was smaller than expected, and the decor felt a bit outdated. The Wi-Fi connection was also weak. Despite these minor issues, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a great choice for couples who want to be in the center of the action.

Great Location! “Location, location, location!”

Location is key! Fantastic views from my room of the Shibuya crossing ! Staff were very attentive and professional. You pay for the location though, as the actual rooms are very dated. Our bed head looked very worn and the chairs looked old, one had a coffee stain. They need new comfortable pillows… more

Location is key! Fantastic views from my room of the Shibuya crossing ! Staff were very attentive and professional. You pay for the location though, as the actual rooms are very dated. Our bed head looked very worn and the chairs looked old, one had a coffee stain. They need new comfortable pillows too. We had a choice of rock like hard ones or so soft, you had to scrunch it up to lie on it. We don’t normally complain but our first night sleep was so bad we asked for something in between the two options and housekeeping found two much more comfortable ones. I noticed other reviews mentioned the terrible pillows so maybe it wasn’t just our room. No usb charging outlets and only an older tv you couldn’t stream Netflix or YouTube shows the room’s age . Management should check all rooms to ensure medium pillows are provided. Restaurant was fantastic , very good service and tasty food. The room is three stars , however I have given it 4 as the views made the stay.

Not my first time here, as usual, they don't accord complimentary early check in, even when they have availability. They are truly a 3* that's pretending to be 4* but charging rates of a 5*. Paying through the roof just for the location. The rooms are dated and small, yet having paid over SGD340 per night for a single room (1 super single bed), and the entire room came with just 1 powerpoint socket. I'm further disappointed that having stayed here almost annually for 5 years in a row pre-covid, they've never bothered to track my preferences and I really dread a room far away from the lifts where I have to drag my heavy luggage through carpeted flooring and dragging my feet after a long day of walking. Just goes to show how much they value loyalty in guests. The front desk staff have lost their smiles except for the 2 younger ones managing the luggage storage.  Room is also only made up upon request, if you fail to place the magnet on your door before 12nn, it'll not be cleaned.
