Next time might look around the area not enough time as we spent all day at Disney shuttle bus made it even better and known we could take it to get the express bus to the airport... more

“A modern classic hotel in Tokyo”

It was an excellent hotel with good spots nearby especially Disneyland. The staff was very cooperative and hospitable. We were served a great variety of food in breakfast. The infrastructure of the hotel was modern and rooms were spacious and clean. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

After a rough start at check in, it started getting better after that! We stayed in the new oriental rooms, and you must book them if u decided to go! Worth every penny! The only negatives I found about the room was the hard beds and the air conditioning. We had it on the lowest setting and it was still hot in our room… besides that the hotel is in a great location right next door to a train station and shopping centre! The breakfast was great and a great selection of things to eat! The hotel also provides the guest with free drinks, beer, wine and candy to snack on

We had a one night stay to complete our Japan trip at the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay. The location is great as it is literally an extension of the train station, but the property had much left to be desired. For one, check in was quite difficult, being largely automated and not English-friendly with multiple forms per person as staff float/linger over you while you’re finishing on the tablet. If one needed a second key, then staff had to be involved anyway. The staff provided a QR code for you to find the amentities and features of the hotel. All self-served which can be helpful in some cases, but we felt it didn’t work as well as it could. The staff were courteous whenever we had interactions with them, and one in particular was very helpful with an odd amenity request. Unlike other properties we stayed at, there are zero measures for security control at the elevators and room access, which may be concerning to some given proximity to the train station (but Japan is a safe country as a whole overall, peace of mind goes a long way though!). The property looked fantastic out front but once you reach the floors with rooms, inside the property was dated, old and is in dire need of renovation. With damaged walls and furniture showing its age, some re-touches could go a long way. The floors for the rooms have a noticeable musty odor as well. The hotel apparently has a self-serve amenity bar for supplies as needed though we did not partake. There was an area that served candy/treats and drinks during the day/evening (might not be the best plan serving kids sugar before bed though!). Despite the issues with ambience I indicated, the room was “clean” but was missing other nice touches like complimentary bottled water, storage safe, etc. Slippers (not disposable) and nightwear were also available for use. The toilet includes an older style bidet. Breakfast area was large and had an assortment of Western and Asian-themed dishes and was nice despite the shortcomings in the accommodation room. The hotel may be classified as a budget hotel for the area, but we felt we received less value than what we paid for as we did not visit Disney. Overall, the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay “did the trick” but we would not stay there again, especially when we received a much higher value proposition at the rest of the hotels we stayed at during our trip, and the ambience of the property had many shortcomings once you went upstairs.
