If you are planing travel I highly recommend stay at VILLA FONTAINE “ KUDANSHITA ” I found extremely deal price and this hotel gives you everything you would need while in your stay at room . Staff are very very polite friendly even 4am morning . Right front door has seven eleven that you can get all kind of smack / drink break first on $1-5 also able to exchange ATM machine in it . I was staying at APA HOTEL but smoking smells and one I stay at was not convenient even this hotel has everywhere in Japan now . I cancel that and got this hotel has little more space on room not cramped like APA hotel regular room . And you can get in subway near by can go everywhere and here “ KUDANSHITA “ is near yasaka temple and ASAKUSA TEMPLE but not crazy busy . It’s Buisiness area yet extremely convenient. If you could book early enough you could get really lower price ( but make sure when you really day you arrive ) I really glad changed hotel to this VILLA FONTAINE- KUDANSHITA “ these is other one near by so make sure pick “ KUDANSHITA “ and if you worry about how you get around in Tokyo … I m pretty new about Tokyo but I took subway follow Google maps they tell me where to get into subway and which section of train is best for your destination “ just practice while in USA “ and download “ Suica” transit card app and download money in it you can put money in max$180 - that you can use at lots stores buy anything , drug stores , subway , bus , taxi. I did use them lost places except few restaurants said “ cash only “ only iPhone can download that not Samsung phone unfortunately. That case you can buy visiter sakura card at airport that expire in 28days . So subway is look like more than New York but conveniently English writing ✍️ and just follow sign and depend on google . Thank you to Google map by the way . Last time I posted lots picture one individual posted not interested my trip to share “ so I respect that this time I’ll put something useful if my group of Nextdoor.com planing to go Tokyo that I’m hoping helps . Lots place and restaurants price went up but still cheaper than hawaii . And even these Japanese or foreign worker knee down assist you no require or customs to tips. So still is reasonable. And they are very kind and appreciated. Let me know if I can answer something I know . If you can pay little more I’ll post one other hotel I’ll be staying at where is near this hotel that has traditional Japanese style rooms and etc . If you like I post it . And temperature now like 86-88 pretty hot . 🥵 may rain sometime soon but don’t need bring lots clothes. Most hotel has pajamas/ all amenities shampoo/ conditioners/ liquid soap / shaver / toothpaste and brush / green tea, coffee / body sponge / cotton / cue tips/ shower caps / cotton Villa Fontaine I stay at in downstairs you can pick yourself . I felt neat . Only can use what you need. So no waste .

I spent 6 weeks in Japan in late 2019 while on business travel and Hotel Villa Fontaine Kudanshita was my homebase in Tokyo over the weekends. Rooms are basic but clean; all toilets have bidets as well as bathtubs. Amenities aren't provided in rooms, but you can help yourself to them at the front desk. It's a fantastic eco initiative, especially for travellers who bring their own toiletries. The hotel has 2 sets of washers and dryers, which I made full use of. Weekends are time for laundry! Cannot say anything about the breakfast spread as the travel agent had not seen fit to provide breakfast with the room charge, but there are many little eateries in the area as well as convenience stores. The hotel is a short walk from 2 major subway stations (Jimbocho and Kudanshita) and Suidobashi JR station, 3 stops from Tokyo Station. It is also a short walk to the Chiyoda Palace, which is a 5km loop if you like a weekend run. Service staff pretty much always greets you with enthusiasm every time you walk in, which to be frank, after a long day at work, is very nice. My compliments to them. Ohtsukaresama.

Stay at this hotel last year and now only get to update my review :) I love the location where the hotel is. If you like the a quiet and peaceful surrounding but yet accessible to main attraction, you probably like this location at Kudanshita, Its not really at center of Shinjuku but the nearest train station is at Jimbocho station and it will only take 5 mins walk. It will take you one or two stop to reach Shinjuku. there are few convenient store which is next to the hotel: 7 Eleven, Lawson, Family Mart. The room might be small especially if you have family with small kids. But overall is a good hotel

“Rooms small. Could do with refurb”

Stayed at this hotel during the Rugby World Cup. The hotel was ok. Rooms were small and a bit dated. It suited the purpose but the hotel was basic and had no extra frills. It is in a convenient location and not far from a subway station.
