Very good airport hotel. I arrived late evening on an international flight and took the free shuttle from the international terminal at Haneda to terminal 2. The hotel is on the second floor right at the end of terminal 2 - extremely convenient. Check in was via kiosk with someone to help, so not bad. My room was comfortable and very quiet. The shower and toilet work well, and the free wifi was very reliable. My only issue was the air conditioning is weak so the room was a little warm. I'd stay here again and recommend it if you have a late evening arrival or early morning departure from Haneda.

“Small but very comfortable.”

I was travelling from Sydney to London via Tokyo and transiting thru Haneda for 11 hours so pre-purchased this hotel essentially so I could have a shower and comfortable sleep before the 14-hour flight from Tokyo to London. You have to pass thru immigration, which is very easy as Japanese customs are very welcoming. The great part though is that you do not need to leave the terminal. The hotel is located at the very end of Terminal 2 and check in process is simple. Note even though you have prepaid the room, you still need to pay extra taxes directly to the hotel although its only 200Y (a lot of paperwork essentially to collect A$2.00). The room is small but very comfortable. My flight from Sydney was late and as such I did not get to the hotel until 11:00pm, by which the Restuarant and room service was closed. At that time there is nothing else open in the airport. Fortunately, I had eaten on the plane but there are vending machines in the hotel foyer. Following morning checkout was efficient and customs had just opened so there were no queues to get back thru. ANA lounge was great for breakfast. I had booked my luggage all the way thru to London so did not need to worry about baggage - just take a change of clothes in your travel on bag.

The only reason to consider staying at the Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu is to simplify travel logistics. In this instance, I was flying in late at night followed by an early morning flight out to Tokushima. Staying in the city with the added taxi/train times would lessen the amount of sleep. Plus the price was competitive to stays in the metro area. The room itself was clean and functional. Nothing outstanding but nothing underwhelming either. All the required amenities were there and the bed comfortable enough for a short stay. The hotel is attempting to have a contactless environment with an automated checkin kiosk. In terms of ease of use, it misses the mark but fortunately there was helpful staff on hand to assist.
