Great find in Shibuya. Yes, the room is small, but just perfect for one person. The room design is brilliant, with everything you’ll need for your stay, very modern and very clean. Cleaning is done every 3 days (unless you request otherwise) , but on the cleaning off-days you still get clean towels and necessities. Location is great - quiet location 5 minutes from the hustle of Shibuya, and from the train station, with many stores and restaurants around (try the Ramen across the street!).

I read previous reviews of the hotel and was preparing for a so so experience, I even brought my own pillows with me. I honestly had the best experience of my life. The hotel is in best place for everything- shopping, dining, nightlife, going places, everything is within reasonable distance, and you can simply walk to a lot of places or take subway to other parts of Tokyo( the subway station is also walking distance, tons of convenience stores nearby as well. The staff is amazing, they go above and beyond for you, kind, professional, knowledgeable, very polite, extremely helpful, the rooms are very small, similar to what I used to in Europe, however unlike Europe, here room is extremely cozy and very very functional. Harmony is probably the best way to describe it. Very small but comfortable bathroom, with soaking bathtub, great shower, toilet with heated seat and bidet, you get hair comb, toothbrush with toothpaste, shower cap, q-tips, disposable washcloth, cotton pads for makeup removal and all of those replaced daily. You get two bottles of drinking water a day but water from faucet is also drinkable and very good quality and tasty, if you pay for room with breakfast included you get small very tasty and strangely pretty feeling breakfast which we absolutely loved and looked forward to every morning. Now the bed!!! It is best and most comfortable bed I ever experienced, the pillows that people were calling flat and uncomfortable actually very ergonomic, and I got best sleep on them that I had in years, I spent thousands of dollars at home trying to find comfortable pillow that won’t give me a headache and muscle spasm in a morning, well I finally found right pillows at APA, best sleep I’ve had in years, I loved the pillows so much that I ordered them on Japanese Amazon, and received at the hotel before trip back home. The mattress and the comforter I’d take too if I could. Super comfortable bed. The hotel has central heat and AC, we were there in March so the heat was still on and for me it was a bit too hot in a room, but once I opened the window it was perfect. I will definitely be back. It is now my most favorite place to stay.

“Great stay”

The APA Hotel in Dogenzaka was great, and the location was very convenient, being close to Shibuya Station. However, as a personal preference, I wish it had been a bit further away. It felt a little too much in the city center. The room was small, but it wasn’t bad.
