First time to stay APA hotel in Ginza nearest Tokyo station. If weather is good, you can walk from Tokyo station to hotel. Around hotel, there are many Ginza department stores and restaurants. And you can walk to Royal Palace within 20 min. About the room, it’s too small. Specially, stay for single person room. The cleanliness of room is fair. They will clean it everyday by your request. The bed is too soft. All amenities are provided. I think the hotel is good for budget; but need to aware the size of room.

“Cute hotel”

Cute hotel in great location. Walking distance to Tokyo Station and buses. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. A bit cramped for two adults. Cute hotel in great location. Walking distance to Tokyo Station and buses. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. A bit cramped for two adults. The total area is about 8x15 with a corner for a small bathroom. The bed is set up against the wall and is a bit challenging for the person on the wall side to get off the bed without crawling over the other person. We didn’t need anything but there are nice amenities like toiletries, robes and slippers if you do need them. No housekeeping unless you ask for it. We were there for only two nights so didn’t really need it. The bed had a nice duvet that can simply be fluffed over the top of the bed for a quick fix. The breakfast is good and worth paying a little extra for. Otherwise there’s a 7Eleven or Famiy Mart close by where you can grab a quick bite to go. A hot water pot is in the room with instant coffee. You can use a microwave and laundry facility on the premises. It’s OK for a short stay but if you are taking kids or staying longer you may want to spend a bit more for a hotel with larger rooms or get one outside the downtown core.

As with all Japanese hotels the room was very small. The bathroom especially is very cramped. Breakfast was a little disappointing from a Westerners point of view, but what was available was nice. There is a small restaurant and Bar (same place as Breakfast) that is available. Hotel is well situated in Ginza, only a short walk to the shops, a slightly longer walk to the Imperial Palace. There are multiple Metro stations nearby making it very easy to get around Tokyo from here. Staff were very helpful.

“Was fine, but not as good as it was”

I've stayed here on at least 2 previous occasions. I like it because it is close to Tokyo station (my preferred neighbourhood), several metro lines and because although the rooms are small they've always been comfortable, well equipped, and the staff friendly. This time I stayed for 9 nights. My check in was with a machine and the man behind reception was disinterested and frankly, a bit rude. I don't imagine that they get many guests staying for 9 nights, so I thought I might've got a smile and a warm welcome, but sadly no. My room was on the 5th floor and was as I remembered except a bit rougher around the edges, no origami cranes (the cleaners used to leave one each day...that was a lovely touch) and no bottles of water (on account of the environment apparently...basically if you stay only one night you don't get one). But as I had my water bottle with me it wasn't much of a problem. The room was spotless as usual and the massive TV and crisp white bedding were a welcome sight. I will say here that the bedding is replaced after every 3rd night now (again because of the environment). I don't mind doing my bit, but would like to make my own mind up when my bedding is changed. The thing I had most difficulty with was the mattress...it was soft...really soft and worn. The kind of mattress that has lost its edges if you know what I mean...you sit on it and almost hit the base. Since the essence of a hotel stay is about being able to sleep, this was disappointing and did affect my ability to get a good night's sleep. I'm torn as to whether or not I'd stay here again to be honest...and that's a shame.
