Excellent hotel situated adjacent to the train station with easy access across a walkway. Pleasant hotel staff, good breakfast with a room that was clean and spacious. Special mentions to the Staff at the Miyabi-tei sushi restaurant, particularly Captain Himawari Yamada and Sushi Chef Mr Katsunori Shimizu. Would happily come back to this hotel on the future.

“Magnificently Modern”

Excellent - the beds, the view, the design, the location next to the train station and a plethora of eateries and Starbucks! Excellent - the beds, the view, the design, the location next to the train station and a plethora of eateries and Starbucks! Walking directly off the train to the hotel connected next door was worth the expense alone. But then you have the modernity of the hotel - usb points, a shower and separate bath, great view and SPACE. The Breakfast was delicious especially the pineapple. Unfortunately we only had one night here, but this was a winner.

“Just OK nothing memorable”

This is a typical large hotel and offers everything you'd expect from the brand, nothing to complain about but it didn't have an overly welcoming feel to it and was quit bland. This is a typical large hotel and offers everything you'd expect from the brand, nothing to complain about but it didn't have an overly welcoming feel to it and was quit bland. A friendlier vibe would of been good but no-one was rude. the Hotel is right next to the station which is great for access around and out of the city. It was good for a one night stay but nothing memorable about it.

“Good rooms, let down by exceptionally bad service in the restaurant.”

The rooms are spacious, clean, tidy and comfortable. That is the good part. The layout is strange with the bathroom basin facing the bed offering no privacy. Then there is the restaurant. The rooms are spacious, clean, tidy and comfortable. That is the good part. The layout is strange with the bathroom basin facing the bed offering no privacy. Then there is the restaurant. I had a buffet breakfast there three times and dinner once. On Other nights I had some pre-dinner/after dinner drinks in the adjoining area. My comments apply equally to both: - At breakfast there was a 30 meter queue of people waiting to be seated. It took about 30 minutes to finally get to the head of the queue. Granted, things did not get off to a good start and that had me observing with a more critical eye Thant would normally be the case. - As we waiting in the queue a few things became obvious. The adjoining area (tables/chairs) remained mostly unused, with two tables setup, and maybe 8 empty. - Tables in the main restaurant where not being cleared, others were empty. - Staff moved like they were in a daze, with no purpose. With 30 or 40 people waiting, you might think there would be some sort of call to arms. Clearly this must happen so often the staff have just given up trying. - A modicum of management or leadership might have led to better outcomes. - After entering, I enter entered the buffet. There is a staff member literally standing in front of a large empty bowl of yogurt (which I wanted). I looked at him expecting him to notice, but get no reaction. I point to the empty bowl nod say “can i have some yogurt”. It is only then that he jumps to action. I’m thinking to myself “mate do you even have eyes?” Still I say nothing and bite my tongue. - At some point i move to the egg station. There are two people waiting, and chef has his head in a cupboard fluffing about. After a couple of deep drawn breaths he finally surfaces with an apology - he didn’t see us. I guess not since he would need x-ray vision to see us with his head in a cupboard! - Finally, you can either get a coffee from a machine that grinds beans etc or from a group of coffee/tea pots which are positioned at convenient locations throughout the restaurant. I opt for one of these, not surprisingly, they are empty. It’s not a question of the number of staff, there seem to be people every way you turn. It’s just a lack to leadership and training. No one seems to take control, nd staff don;t know what to do and have no sense of urgency. I was here on holiday and so could take my time. If I was here on business with appointments to keep, i would have bailed and never gone back.
