This hotel had a very elegant hotel lobby, and our room was large and nicely furnished. Even more impressive was the view. It was magnificent with the park around the ancient buildings and a beautiful modern city around it. The only thing that was not so great about the room was the lack of separate shower. I real dislike to be forced to shower in a bathtub. Fortunately, more and more of good hotels in Europe get rid of their bathtubs and install shower instead. The hotel breakfast buffet was as normal in Japan lacking good bread, cheese and good meat toppings for the breads.

“Good location near Peace memorial park”

We chose the hotel because of its location near the Peace Memorial Park. We stayed there 2 nights. The stay didn't start so well because we had to wait over 20 minutes in line for check-in and got no apology for the long wait, but because the location and price were good and the room was big, clean… more

We chose the hotel because of its location near the Peace Memorial Park. We stayed there 2 nights. The stay didn't start so well because we had to wait over 20 minutes in line for check-in and got no apology for the long wait, but because the location and price were good and the room was big, clean and nice, with a big private bathroom, we still give it good assessment. We stayed on the 26th floor, but there is an advertising sign on the ground level with sound that was actually disturbing all the way up there. Luckily it was quiet at night. We were given free water botles in the room, as you often get in Japan, but these were quite small.

“Dated”

The RIHGA Royal Hotel is extremely dated and there is absolutely no atmosphere in any of the communal areas. The RIHGA Royal Hotel is extremely dated and there is absolutely no atmosphere in any of the communal areas. The bar on the top floor was completely lifeless, the rooms resemble something out of the 1970's with thick mahogany trimmings and the bathrooms with ghastly shower curtains just look sad. However, all that said, the rooms are very large, the staff are lovely and the view from our 31st floor room was stunning. The hotel itself is also reasonably well located, only a short stroll from the Peace Memorial. Our breakfast with the Executive Room was not great and if you are looking for something slightly more Western then I would strongly recommend having the buffet breakfast on the ground floor, which was fine. Hiroshima itself is fascinating and its environs are beautiful. If you are looking for somewhere for a couple of nights then this hotel is probably fine, but if you are staying for longer then I would probably look elsewhere.

“Bar closed to public and an ugly bedroom”

Ugly room and no bar. I am on a tour and arrived in Hiroshima today. After visiting the atomic museum I felt in need of a drink. Ugly room and no bar. I am on a tour and arrived in Hiroshima today. After visiting the atomic museum I felt in need of a drink. I didn’t want to buy a drink and take it to my room as it is so unwelcoming. Everything is rather dated, the furniture is dark and scuffed and the bathroom is a rather unflattering pink. I asked at reception where I could get a drink and was signposted to the shop. I asked for a bar and was signposted to 33 floor. The note there says there is a private party.
