“Second stay even better than the first”

Second stay here this year and the room this time that I got upgraded to was huge and came with lounge access. Can’t ask for more in Japan with such a large room. Conveniently located next to the train station and easy access to all parts of Fukuoka. Service was excellent

“Nice hotel near station”

The hotel is just a short walking distance from Hakata train station. Rooms are spacious and breakfast has many choices. Close proximity to the shopping areas in Hakata Station and easily accessible to other places of interest via train. 3rd time staying at this hotel after more than 10 years.

We stayed here two nights at the end of our Japan trip. We had a really nice stay, and it was boosted by the customer service at the hotel. Our first room had a thermostat that we could not get to cool down, the room was quite warm. The hotel Front desk manager came upstairs and tried to make it cooler for us, since we were incapable of doing, so (given it was in Japanese). But still, the room was warm all night. We asked to move to a different room the next morning, and to our surprise when we came back the next evening, they had moved all our bags to a much nicer room! They also had a fun amenity kit for children, my son was so excited for the special slippers and coloring book they gave to him. He still wears the slippers today back in the USA. Breakfast buffet was excellent! Even had a section for local specialties of the region. They were OK with us bringing a plate up to the bedroom for my dozing wife. Hotel was nicely located near the train station, about an eight minute walk. Beds were comfortable in both rooms, and showers and bathroom were all super clean. We would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at the crowne plaza hotel during my recent business trip in February. I used to be a diamond member at IHG, but was downgraded to a basic club member a few months ago because most of my stays were at the Marriott. I decided to give this hotel a try based on the reviews I had seen online. Overall, my stay in this hotel was pleasant but there are a few areas that I would suggest improvements on. Firstly, I'm a vegetarian and being vegetarian in Japan is a bit tricky. During breakfast, for example the hotel has a huge variety of items but it is not clear which items are vegetarian friendly and which ones aren't. For example, the Japanese curry did not clearly call out that it had beef in it and I only found out when I asked the staff if it was vegetarian and was told that it wasn't. I hope the hotel address is this by clearly labelling the food and calling out which ones are vegetarian friendly and which ones are not. Secondly, the rooms in the hotel look a little bit dated and I feel like the hotel could invest some money in refurbishing the rooms and the general upkeep of the property. In particular, the gym, while being 24 hours open was dated with equipment looking like it was from the '70s or '80s. Finally, the hotel has a policy of pre buying breakfast vouchers at a discount. If you don't buy these vouchers in the lobby at least a day in advance, You end up being charged more for breakfast. I found this policy a bit strange. I suppose it helps the hotel plan the quantity of food that they need to make for breakfast. But nevertheless, I feel like this process could be made simpler and people shouldn't have to pre-buy breakfast at a cheaper rate. All in all, because of the hotel's excellent location, I'm planning to stay there once more during my upcoming business trip. However, with IHG refusing to status match or provide an accelerated fast track to diamond promotion, I am considering staying at the Hilton instead who have offered me a diamond status as part of their ongoing promotion.
