“Most relaxing place, some small points..”

We had an amazing week jn Hotel Pfosl; the hotel is really beautiful and the room, restaurant, spa, swimming pool and gardens are in perfect condition. We did some great guided e-bike/hiking trips and all staff are very friendly. The vegeterian menu is absolutely top level and we loved all the courses served but we were very surprised to see that the alternative (meat) menu was exactly the same for the full week. I think the focus on vegetarian food should be communicated more clearly to avoid misunderstanding. The breakfast was really amazing; so much choice from the buffet and the egg dishes from the menu were delicious as well. Our room was beautiful with a really large bathroom (we had suite 1375) but very warm. There is no airco and just sliding doors, which we felt uncomfortable to leave open all night as we were on the ground floor. We were planning to book several spa treatments but after the first one (silverquartz detox) we were quite disappointed as it was more stroking than “intense/targeted massage” as described. We had a discussion about it at reception which we felt we were not really taken seriously but they made up the next day with a present/card in our room. Overall we had a really great and relaxing time and we thank the team for their hospitality!

“Second visit slightly disappointing”

After staying in this hotel in August 2020 we decided to spend a week there in June 2021. As before the hotel location is wonderful. We had a room with a view of the Latemar mountain range. The hotel staff are highly professional and friendly. The amenities in the hotel particularly the 25 meter infinity pool heated to 35 degrees centigrade are excellent. The quality of the food is also excellent but here we were disappointed by the lack of variety compared with our last visit. There was only one fish dish available for the whole week, a brook trout or Bachsaibling, and only one type of soup, a consume, for the whole week. Last year there was a variety of sea fish available as well as a different soup every day. If you are a red meat eater then you are better served but white meat, for example chicken or turkey, was not on offer. There were the same 3 red meat dishes every day with an additional one of the day. Having said that, the chef, Markus, works wonders and I really mean wonders with vegetarian dishes. Having returned to the hotel to enjoy the variety of excellent meals we were unfortunately rather disappointed

In this hotel you can find all SPA services and even more , a great warm outdoor swimming pool with view on the mountains. Exellent personnel in any role allways available at your disposal. Food is good, great excellent breakfast a part they propose low quality Korn Flakes . Natural water 5€ too expensive. Prices seems high but considering all services as SPA and swimming pool are all included, prices are fine as well. .

The hotel is very inviting and consists of several sections with a nice outdoor space with lots of different seating arrangements. But it is located next to a busy road with the dolomites in the background; the road did interrupt the piece and view. We stayed 2 nights in the newest section of the hotel – in a “ Alpina Zirbe” room. The room was wonderful, spacious and nicely and naturally decorated with a great daybed. In the restaurant you are assigned the same table for breakfast and dinner throughout your stay – it is not what we would have preferred, but did experience the same concept at other hotels in the Northern part of Italy, so it might be the norm. We had a table in one of the “back rooms”, which meant that especially at breakfast you might be the only ones in the room. From our perspective it would make more sense to change the seating arrangements and if we had stayed longer than 2 nights we would have been really annoyed. At breakfast you could whenever possible seat people in the main dining room where you can enjoy the view. The breakfast is a combination of a buffet and several different dishes which you can order. We found the buffet to be a bit boring – lacking a bit of cold cut options and cheeses. Some of the vegetables had gotten really dry; seemed they had been cut the prior evening. The afternoon cake buffet – well…… both days we were there we came at the end of the time slot and it did not look very inviting, a bit “trashed”, signs for cake where only the sign was left and the cakes that were there were not very good. We did notice several other guests that took huge quantities so if that is what happens at the beginning of the service it is totally understandable that not much is left in the end, but the hotel should consider how this service can be approved. For dinner there are several dishes to choose from and you can order as much as you want. The first evening we did not order that much and the dishes we chose were not very big. The next evening we ordered one more dish each and that evening we apparently chose all the bigger dishes so we were very full in the end. Some of the dishes were very good and extremely tasty, but others were not the best – a spring roll that was not crisp at all, fried elements that had been fried prior to dinner so they were cold and a bit soggy. It feels a little bit like a factory and not that the dishes were prepared for us. For the price you pay, the ambience and the way the hotel markets itself, we had higher expectations. There is a little mismatch between the quality and the price especially around the dining experience.

Pros: delicious and high selection of dishes at dinner. All perfectly presented and tasted. Spa with various opportunities, clean and cozy. Indisputable amazing Dolomites view from all room.Shuttle service free hugely appreciated. Staff at reception and table service extremely helpful and kind. Againsts: Afternoon break reasonable. Standard plus room not worth the price, very small bathroom, minimal items , shower and dustbin suitable for two star Garni. Hand soap dispenser empty , (not refilled in two day). Maybe the most negative aspect was the absurdity of charging 5 euros for natural tap water at the table. That 's spoils a little the overall good impression we had. As to breakfast, we visited many similar class hotel in the area and we can assure is absolutely in the average. B
