The hotel is quite close to the town centre (5 mins walk) and about 15 mins walk from the main Belvedere lift. The hotel runs a little shuttle bus direct from the door to the lift from 8.30-10 am and 3.30-5pm which is really convenient. Ski/boot room was handy and heated racks. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and warm and quiet. The hotel is charming and traditional but well kept with a small bar. The staff (family) were very friendly and helpful. The food was good- generous breakfasts of meat, cheese, rolls, eggs, yoghurt, cakes etc. Evening meal was a salad bar followed by two courses plus dessert. It would have been nice to have coffee making facilities in the evening; coffee was available in the bar but it wasn't always staffed until later in the evening. The provision for vegetarians was not brilliant but if we asked they tried to provide something (grilled vegetables for main course two days running). But this lack is also common in all the mountain restaurants in the area which are very meat based! Access to the main ski area is from the Belvedere ski lift in the village and then another two lifts (Pecol and Toe) take you up to the main Belvedere bowl and then into the Sella Ronda circuit and nearby resorts. There were usually big queues at Belvedere but they moved quickly (15 mins wait at most- try and avoid 9.30-9.45 when the ski schools are heading up). Although the resorts were busy as it was New Year and there were queues at key lifts, they weren't too bad. We had ski/boot hire through Crystal at Ski Hire Marmolada which is down at the ski school about 5 mins walk down from the main town lift. It was efficient and spacious. Crystal reps were there if we needed any help on the Sunday morning. The town itself has some good cafes and bars, seemed lively apres ski, some nice tourist shops. There's a historic feel to the centre with some old churches and an amazing painted chalet on the walk back from the end of the red run which comes down above the town (about 15 mins walk back to the hotel).

Great hotel, very friendly staff. Recommend for everyone willing to ski in Val di Fassa and surroundings! So-so breakfast but overall nice ski room, clean rooms, pretty nice almost in the centre of Canazei and of course big bonus is hotel's own transfer to the ski lift!

Stayed for an enjoyable week skiing in the local area. The rooms are great, apart from one noisy neighbour on the balcony one evening, it was quiet. Breakfast is typical for the type of hotel, breads, ham boiled eggs and lots of cake. No hot options but good coffee. Dinner was 3 courses, adequate and interesting menus with a small salad bar. Water at the table is chargeable. The bar and restaurant run a tab for drinks but don't get you to sign, it might be prudent to check the tab if there is a group at your table. The mini bus to the ski lift is useful but earliest pick up is 3:30 if you return early. You can take the skibus up or down the valley from the drop off point, I would recommend Ciampedie or Alba for beginner blue runs. Alba bus goes from outside the hotel. San Pellegrino is at least 2 bus changes and is not linked to Val di Fassa so difficult to get to. Bus tickets for one or more days travel are €2/day and available from hotel reception. We had a great week's stay here at Hotel Diana. The staff were extremely friendly, from check-in to the restaurant and couldn't fault the service provided. The dinners were absolutely superb - the portions were incredibly generous and there was something different every night. The tiramisu was the best I've ever tasted! The hotel bus to and from the ski lift was also brilliant as saved a lot of walking after a tiring day on the slopes. Only advice would be to bring your own hairdryer as the one in the room isn't very powerful. Overall would definitely recommend a stay here - the staff are the true gem at this hotel.
