Beautiful view from the room. Staff were helpful , their advice on where to eat turned out to be excellent. Bed was comfortable, and it was very clean. In general , a lovely place to stay. Easy walking distance to anything within the city walls, but far enough away from the city centre to be quiet at night. Also, though its the first hotel you come to from the train station, but you might want to catch a taxi. I walked, it was 40 minutes uphill all the way with the luggage...

Nice hotel within 15 minutes of the station and of the town centre. It is up a hill from the station and the hill continues into town. Because of this there are lovely views from the hotel. After our original booking we decided to upgrade to a room with a terrace which had beautiful views over the town. The hotel also has a really pretty garden - on the upper level you can have your breakfast rather than eating inside. On the lower level there are comfy seats. Our room was fairly basic but very clean and the air conditioning was brilliant. Breakfast was continental with a mix of ham, eggs, cheese, cakes, pastries, fruit, cereals, bread, jams and honey. A great choice. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and let us leave our bags after checking out while we went out for a few hours before catching our train. Also a couple of nice bars and restaurants very close by if you don’t want to walk into town.

“Loved the terrace!”
A great hotel in a good location. We walked up from the train & bus station, prob 15-20mins. A pleasant walk into the old town again maybe 15-20 mins to Piazza and Duomo. Our room was a decent size, plenty of space to put suitcases, clothes etc. Bathroom was quite narrow but shower was a good size and worked well. The best thing was the terrace, it was fabulous. So nice to sit out there in the afternoon or evening and enjoy the view and listen to the drumming nearby. The room didn't have a kettle but the reception were happy to give us a pot of hot water, tea bags and milk if we wanted. Good choice for breakfast, didn't have a warmer so the eggs were usually cold.

We spent the nights at the Hotel Minerva. The hotel is very well located and the people who work there are very nice. As our flight was cancelled 2 days before departure and we had to arrive on a different day, we asked the hotel if there was a possibility to get to the hotel a day earlier. Actually, the hotel was fully booked, but they organized a small room for us to stay in. I found this very nice. One negative point, the walls are very thin. You can hear the person next to you and all the noises coming from the corridor.
