“Cozy, clean and centrally located!”
Stayed here for short business trip. The hotel is clean and the staff is super friendly. The hotel is located near the main train station termini, which made it is easy to move around the city. I booked a room in the sister building. The breakfast selection was varied and tasty.

This hotel is a gem in a city full of sorts. It is found close enough to the Termini Station, Rome’s transport hub. Arriving from the airport could not have been smoother and during our stay we could easily hop on a Metro or bus and in minutes be at any corner of the city - 7 to the Trevi Fountain, 10 minutes at the Spanish Steps and 15 minutes to the Vatican! You can also get a train and in a few hour be in major cities in Italy! Piazza Della Republica, Santa Maria Maggiore and the Colosseo are all in a short walk from the hotel. The hotel offers many different room types including classical / elegant and modern and bright rooms as they are diffused with a second building on the same street. You can choose what best fits your need and pocket. The breakfast was delightful, unexpected and varied with not only continental basics but also a variety of eggs, streaky bacon and sausages. The coffee was great and the servers very efficient and helpful. You can also chilax in the quiet courtyard and enjoy a fresh Spritz before a good Roman meal in the vicinity. The best part is the great attention and detail of service and recommendations received at check in. The reception staff were exceptional. Kudos also to the housekeeping staff as they kept a good stock of freshly clean towels when we needed and they always took extra care with their daily cleaning. Rome is a city that can drain you, as it is huge and there is too much to see and do, so you need a good nights rest! I think we found a good spot for that, a true gem and an oasis of tranquility.

We stayed at this hotel for one evening at the end of our ACV package. We were happy with the location, a 5 minute walk from Termini station. Our room was on the first floor, which opened into the courtyard. If we had been staying for longer we would have asked for a room on a higher floor, as we did not feel that this was very secure (even though the courtyard is locked). Our room was very clean, and the bathroom looked newly renovated. The reception staff was very efficient and polite and provided us with a map to walk around in Rome. It was about a 25 minute walk to the Coliseum (maybe closer to 15 minutes if you actually knew where you were going). The morning breakfast was included in our package, and was the standard European continental style with some additional hot options. All in all, if I wanted to be very close to Termini, I would stay at the hotel again. For my next trip to Rome, I might choose something a little more central to the sights, but it worked perfectly for us for the one night we were there.

Our last night in Rome was spent in the small boutique hotel the Hotel Royal Court. Our original plan had been to stay in the same place as we’d spent the first two nights in Rome the week earlier but the tour operator changed this and placed us here for our final night. To be honest as much as I enjoyed our other Rome Hotel, I’m glad that they did. The new hotel was in almost the same area as the old one, close to the main railway station but on the opposite side this time to the North East about three blocks from the station on Via Marghera. This meant we were for the most part familiar with the area. Hotel Royal Court is a small establishment only three stories and originally built as a town house and converted into a hotel. There is also apparently a small annex with a few extra rooms located nearby. The entrance is off a wide laneway or alley off of Via Marghera. Past the entrance is a small gated patio for guests to use. There re several steps up to the front desk so the place may not be the best for those with mobility issues. The actual front desk area is small with a tiny waiting area with couches off to one side. Check in was fast and easy with the standard showing of our passports and a credit card used for incidentals and the room tax (15 Euros/$23.60 Cdn) paid on check out. As we’d arrived late in the afternoon our room was ready and we went up immediately in the rather small elevator. Our room was on the first (second floor) and at the back overlooking the aforementioned courtyard. Our first impression was the size. The room was immense, so mush so that the Queen-sized bed seemed small in comparison. The second thought was old world. Lots of dark wood hardwood floors and ornate furniture including a desk and a wardrobe which also contained the small safe. It was in contrast to the rest of the décor of the modern programable keypad design. The other modern touches were the house phone and the wall mounted flat screen smart TV. There were plenty of electrical outlets for our needs including some on either side of the bed on the side tables for convenient phone charging. The bathroom was almost as large as the main room and obviously newly renovated with marble finishes and an immense walk-in shower. There was a good supply of toiletries and towels for our needs. Water pressure and hot water supply were more than adequate. Free WIFI was available throughout the property and was easy to connect to and allowed for the use of multiple devices. The hotel offered breakfast and ours was included in the reservation. It was served in a small basement room which judging by the TV, comfortable chairs and full bar does double service as a bar/lounge area. Breakfast was the usual European hotel fare, juice and coffee/tea a good selection of breads and toasts, fresh fruits and cold cuts as well as cereals. There were also steam trays with scrambled eggs and bacon which was a nice addition. In addition to the basement lounge and the back courtyard there was a roof top terrace with some great views of the neighbourhood and several lemon trees. I was advised by the front desk that I could order drinks from the basement bar. as the staff seemed busy, I opted for walking to one of the nearby stores and grabbing a couple of cold beers to enjoy on the rooftop. The staff seemed attentive and polite and offered some suggestions of nearby restaurants including some that had special offers for hotel guests. My wife who is Filipino Canadian was pleasantly surprised to find a large number of the staff were Filipino Italians. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and my only regret was it was only for one night.
