Well located on a favorite street in Rome’s historic center, this small hotel has lovely rooms and baths and Hisham at reception is very helpful and friendly. We had booked a family room with two levels (room 501) and a double room (S4) and were pleased with everything. Breakfast is available for a small additional cost and our young family traveling with us said it was great (we had to leave before breakfast to catch our flight and could not join them). I think it is a great value at a very reasonable price and will return!

“Would love to return to Relais Giulia”

Room was very nice, good size, and comfortable. With table and chairs too. Service excellent and friendly. Nice breakfast in a lovely little room. Wifi worked very well. Location is fantastic- we could walk to so may places from Piazza Navona to Trastevere. Would definitely stay there again.

First, I need to say, that I only stayed at this sweet hotel for 12 hours...it was a late arrival, one night, and an early departure. That being said, I cannot speak to some of the aspects of Relais Giulia Hotel, like the breakfast or the staff. However, in my short stay, a few issues stood out that I thought were worth writing a review about. Pros: 1) Very responsive staff with regard to email communication. 2) The late check-in process was clearly explained and everything worked seamlessly. 3) The hotel room was immaculate. 4) The hotel room was fairly spacious, especially by Rome standards. 5) The hotel is situated on a beautiful QUIET street in the center of Rome with easy walkability to The Vatican and many other sights. 6) Great price compared to other hotels in Rome's city center. Cons: 1) There is no one at the reception desk from 4pm -8am. This isn't necessarily a con, just be aware and understand if you need assistance, you're on your own at these hours. 2) Your room key is a "virtual key" accessed through your cellular phone. This isn't necessarily a con, but if you are not technically inclined, you may not want to risk it! I am comfortable with my cell phone, but I had to log into the hotel's internet before I could access my room. On the pro side...everything is clearly explained in an email prior to your arrival and they even have a YouTube video on how to use the virtual key, but if you don't have a data plan with 4G or 5G, you will need to get onto the hotel wifi first. Overall, this is a sweet hotel on one of the loveliest streets in Rome. If you do not require extra frills or personal attention, it could be a great option for you. I would be curious as to how the hotel breakfast is presented, but the staff, in my limited experience, seemed very responsive and helpful via email.

My wife and I picked this hotel do to it being in between the Vatican and the Colosseum (about 1.5 mile walk from each). We were able to walk successfully to everything we wanted to see. However, the hotel staff was only at the front desk from 8:00-5:00, so if you ever had any questions or needed help after-hours they were not very accessible. Our room was nice, but we will probably stay somewhere else in the future.
