We booked the Hotel Rimini but they were unavailable due to a maintenance issue so they shifted us to the Hotel Archimede about a block away. We had a concern about the switch because of negative TA reviews BUT the Hotel Archimede proved to be just fine. The room was a reasonable size and well furnished. It was clean and comfortable. It had some minor wear and tear but overall was in excellent condition. The staff were responsive and helpful. The few small things that kept this a 4 rather than 5 star review were also minor. One was that the room had no kettle. The second was that the bathroom had a tub and handheld/wall mounted shower sprayer but no shower curtain. It was ok for a bath but a little difficult to use as a shower. When we find ourselves looking for a basic hotel close to Termini in the future we will certainly consider staying at the Hotel Archimede again.

“Topical Roman 2 stars hotel”

I spent 15 days travelling through Italy and this was by far, the worst hotel of the trip. The country is boiling hot right now and the air conditioner just doesn't exist. The room is boiling hot, tiny, smells like mold, and the bar doesn't work. The shower is weird, the water goes boiling to cold all the time, there's no dividers so the whole bathroom gets wet. Also, the towels were left inside the bidet. The mini fridge in the bedroom doesn't work properly, the phone doesn't work either. The bed is awful, bed linen as well. At least the people at the reception desk are nice, but I wouldn't stay there again. Actually, I'm not coming back to Italy if I can help it. Overall, very rude people, they treat you like you're a nuisance. Location is ok, though.

I have just returned from a coach trip around Italy and this was the accommodation provided as part of the tour. I was quite concerned reading the reviews here of the hotel but I have to say my experience was not anything near as bad as what I had prepared myself for. I mean I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return but it was alright. The hotel is located just beside Termini station, I had a challenge to find it initially because you have to go through the station to reach it. I do have to say the room and particularly bathroom were exceptionally small. I’m a bigger guy and I had difficulty using the toilet due to lack of space. Other issues were the noise, you could hear everything in the hotel and in the corridors. Also the lifts were way down a corridor rather than in the centre of the lobby so would think twice of you have mobility issues It’s not great and certainly not 4 star, more like 2 star but i did not find it as horrific as other reviews suggest but it’s not a dump either. The main let down was the rooms were just so small
