“Referred to also as Bed and Breakfast Pigneto; it's not really a hotel!”

There seem to be problems with the TA listing in the name, and a lot of difficulty in locating this listing, which may be why there are few recent reviews, but here is a review from early August 2017, during the exceptionally hot weather. • The top reviews of Pigneto are: There seem to be problems with the TA listing in the name, and a lot of difficulty in locating this listing, which may be why there are few recent reviews, but here is a review from early August 2017, during the exceptionally hot weather. Was looking for a budget type accommodation with a private room not too far from the centre of Rome and with good access to/from both Rome airports. The hotel is located very close to the tram/bus stops and is around 10-15 minutes from the main station. I just used my sat nav to locate the nearest stops / internet search to find the place. The sat nav location on Google seemed to point me to the other side of the square, and I walked pass, but you can see the number 15 outside the building and a picture of the building under this listing - it looks like an apartment block with no big sign outside. There is a small name on the entryphone...just buzz and the reception is up the stairs on your left. The basic room rates don't include breakfast and you have to pay city tax like some Euro cities on top of the room rate. Didn't check whether it had wifi or whether it worked. The Pigneto area has a few outdoor bars and shops nearby, but otherwise it looks a pretty run down area with few attractions of interest. You can walk into the Termini station but it takes about 25 minutes and is not a very pleasant trip. The room is basic. It was very hot and I had to open the window due to the temperature - there was some vehicle/people noise outside but managed to get off to sleep. Stayed 2 nights, no en-suite but the bathroom being down the corridor meant suitable attire needed! Lamps looked old and rattled as if they were faulty; though the room generally seemed serviceable and things working. A late check in and no problem leaving bags. No thrills but did the job for a couple of nights. Information on the ratings: 5* I give relatively few. Has to be a place I would either go to regularly and consistently provide a cut above the rest, or a place that I may have visited just once and offered a particularly memorable experience or be exceptional value. 4* is a place I enjoy and would tend to go back to if the opportunity was presented. Probably a good level to aim at for a catering/hospitality business, as too many 5* suggests you may be underselling/undermarketing. 3* places - are adequate and I would sometimes go back to but other choices are generally preferred; normally there is obvious room for improvement, usually in the offering and value. 2* places - have issues that make the experience below par, 1* places - hope I don't end up in one of these!.
