We are on our way home from the most fantastic experience at Leon’s Place Hotel. I am writing this in the taxi to the airport because the hotel and staff have been so amazing from start to finish during our trip. Everything else that could have gone wrong for us did, delayed luggage, cancelled flights, pre-booked transfers that didn’t arrive - but the hotel were absolutely excellent and nothing we asked was too much trouble for the staff. We arrived late as our luggage was lost at Heathrow Airport and put on a later flight. Upon arrival we were met my a polite man who advised us that my Dad had called ahead to inform the hotel of our delayed luggage and requested to order some champagne for our room as we were travelling to celebrate our anniversary trip. The gentleman at reception quite rightly advised my Dad that in Rome we should drink red wine and not champagne and recommended a lovely (very reasonably priced) 2017 bottle of red wine! I can confirm, this was the nicest bottle of red wine we drank all holiday, a fantastic recommendation and a lovely start to our trip when we finally arrived in Rome! As this was a special trip for our anniversary, I had been liaising with the hotel team before our stay via email to arrange breakfast, booking a free one-hour slot in the hotel spa (your room can use the spa exclusively for one hour, so you are the only ones there, which is wonderful), and to arrange a surprise for my Partner on arrival. The hotel arranged beautiful rose petals, a bow on the door, a bottle of Prosecco and instead of a bunch of roses as requested, a home made tiramisu for my Partner - this was the BEST tiramisu we have ever eaten by miles!! And it was absolutely huge!!! We stayed in a Junior Suite on the 5th floor and the room was stunning. There was a balcony, which we were not expecting, with a lovely view of Via XX Settembre. The room was clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was beautiful black and white marble. The whole hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas and the communal areas have been designed in a modern, quirky style with nods to Rome, which we loved! Little did I know, we would get engaged in front of St Peter’s Basilica on our first night in Rome, and when we came back to the hotel I was feeling extremely overwhelmed (and happy of course!) so popped down to reception at around 10pm to ask the staff if we could have some water for the room and any food as I was feeling shaky! Despite the restaurant being closed, the staff said no trouble at all, and arranged for some water on the house and some nuts and crisps to be sent to the room for us. The following day, we found out our flight home was cancelled and called down to reception to see if there was a chance to extend our stay for another night in the same room (we thought this would be unlikely) but they agreed, no problem at all, stay in the same room, and managed to give us a 10% discount from breakfast the next day as we were booking another night. We were feeling overwhelmed and exhausted so asked if possible to order room service for dinner, again, no problem, we ordered at 6:30pm before the restaurant opened at 7pm and the food arrived in around 20 minutes. It was gorgeous!! We went to the spa that evening at 10:30-11:30pm, which was just what we needed - tastefully designed for relaxation, we thoroughly enjoyed a rest in the sauna and jacuzzi. Breakfast was great, with a lovely selection of food and refreshments and again very friendly staff. We accidentally bumped into our cleaner one morning when we popped back to our room after breakfast and she was very polite and kind, and did a great job of cleaning our room and replacing amenities. On the last day, (today) our pre-booked taxi did not arrive and again, nothing was too much trouble, the lovely ladies at the desk called our taxi company for us, but with no luck, helped us arrange a new taxi within minutes. We are now on track to make our flight home and just wanted to thank the hotel staff for making our trip so memorable and our time at the hotel so easy and enjoyable. Our engagement trip would have not been the same without your team’s kindness. We absolutely would recommend Leon’s Place to anybody and I am sure we will return next time we are in Rome. This hotel deserves 5 stars - there is nothing I would change or improve at all. Thank you again!!! (6-9th December 2024)

“Spectacular place to stay”

We have just spent the most amazing 5 days at Leon’s Place. The moment we arrived from a long journey, the reception staff were welcoming, kind and helpful to my family. We have just spent the most amazing 5 days at Leon’s Place. The moment we arrived from a long journey, the reception staff were welcoming, kind and helpful to my family. Thank you to Daniella and Matilde. Our rooms were fabulous, clean and 5 star- we stayed in the Junior suite and the deluxe room. The breakfast was amazing. Everything we could want and once again the staff were very obliging. Allesandro and Jordan looked after us at the bar and made some fabulous cocktails. The amazing Spa and wellness area which is booked privately for your room is nothing short of amazing and relaxing after long days of walking around Rome. We would not hesitate to stay here again. There is nothing the staff won’t assist you with and the location is perfect - across the road from THE. Best gelato place and gorgeous little Italian restaurants. We will be back!

“Hidden gem, great staf, highly recommend”

We had the most wonderful stay at Leon’s Place in Rome. The location, room and staff were excellent, we couldn’t recommend enough. Staff: The staff were exceptional, Matilda at reception was so helpful from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out she really couldn’t do enough for us. Unfortunately our son got sick on the trip and needed a doctor, Matilda arranged for a doctor to come directly to our room. I cannot describe how grateful we were for this rather than the stress of trying to find a doctor in a location that we didn’t know where English is not the first language. All the other staff were incredibly kind and helpful as well. One of the evening receptionist took a family photo of us beside the beautifully decorated Christmas tree, which may not seem like a big deal but we have stayed in places before we’re staff won’t do that, in this case we didn’t even have to ask, he came over and offered. Location: The location of the hotel is ideal, it’s 10mins from the train station and 20 mins from the trevi fountain walking. There are several shops and restaurants just down the road from the hotel, nothing is too far away. The location is a little noisy during the day time but we had absolutely no issue at night time. Room: We stayed in a double room, it was incredibly spacious in comparison to other hotels we have stayed in in Rome. The room was cleverly laid out and the hotel provided a travel cot for us which was perfect. Restaurant: We dined in the restaurant on our first night as we didn’t want to go out after travelling, the food is fine but is not as good as the restaurants outside the hotel and it was a little expensive for what you got. It was handy for the first night but we didn’t go back again for the rest of our stay as there were far nicer places to eat just a few minutes away. Overall: We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough, we had a brilliant time and will definitely stay here on our next visit to Rome.
