Just returned from a long weekend at the Hotel Morgan’s Rome. Arrived about lunchtime and were warmly welcomed and told our room was ready, happy days. We had emailed a week earlier and asked for a quiet room which we got, not much of a view but who cares we were going to be out every day, room was big enough and everything worked as it should. We found the hotel staff to be friendly and very helpfull. We found the breakfast ok, the usual juices, cereals, cold meats, back and eggs however we did give the chicken nuggets a miss. All in all a good experience, we were pleasantly surprised after reading the negativity on here ie the tourist tax !! Which everyone has to pay If you go try the restaurant straight opposite, real Italian food and the manager is hilarious

Location was ok and down the road from the train station. Breakfast had plenty of choice with some very nice pastries. Room was warm with the option this time of year to open the window to cool down, bathroom had a fabulous shower. That’s the good bits done, sadly we booked an executive room which should have accommodated a maximum of four people. Our room was definitely not executive and lord only knows where a forth person would have slept but luckily our booking was for three. For an executive room the room was very small, wall paper at the bottom of the walls was coming away from the wall and overall a bit shabby. Only place to do hair and makeup was the bathroom which was very inconvenient when 3 ladies wishing to get ready at the same time. As for the view well just awful looked into a small alleyway and the apartments looked derelict.

Stayed at hotel Morgana for 4 nights with my husband and 11 year old son, booked a family room which was very dated and not very clean, cold and heating didn’t work, did ask reception how to use the heating but was just told by a staff member on reception to use thermostat which didn’t work, so sat with coats on. Our room was on 2nd floor at the back of the hotel and bars on windows, run down buildings in our view. Don’t be fooled by the photos, the rooms are nothing like advertised. Breakfast not good, we only had toast and coffee as didn’t like the look of hot food, bacon was like ribbons of meat and burnt, scrambled eggs looked like rubber, although dining room staff very polite and helpful. Reception staff wasn’t friendly or helpful., didn’t even see them smile. On arrival was told had to pay €7.50 tax pppn and had to be paid in cash, totaling €90 on top of what we had already paid for the 4 nights stay. The location is good as round corner from termini station, however, Street is dirty with homeless people sleeping on pavements and was advised to be careful as pick pockets are around, felt unsafe walking around the area. Rome is a lovely place to visit and lots to see and do, would visit again but would not stay at hotel Morgana! Please do not be fooled by the pictures..
