“Simply the best”
Lovely boutique hotel with fantastic front desk personnel. Lovely boutique hotel with fantastic front desk personnel. Front desk staffed throughout the day with two charming and attentive staff who are always available for answering questions or securing reservations. Rooms are large with spacious bathrooms with tubs. Daily room cleaning was perfect with nightly turn down service. Never was a cleaning service or turn down missed which is frequently the case at other hotels. We travelled with two children and felt very welcome. Breakfast is included and is incredible. Order from an extensive a la carte menu with french toast, pancakes, bacon, eggs, yoghurt etc. The breakfast staff were amazing. Prompt, courteous and efficient. No request was too much. Breakfast service was one of the best parts of our stay. Breakfast is served until 11am which is unusual. Many stop serving at 10am which means jet lagged kids sleep through breakfast. But not here where breakfast is served until 11am. We left two days before our bags were shipped back to the US and the front desk staff graciously allowed the bags to remain on property until DHL pick up. The front desk team flawlessly orchestrated the pick up in our absence. That's some service. Location on quiet side street but 5 minute walk to Piazza Poppolo. Stop looking. This is the place. Just go. Absolutely fabulous.

This is a lovely hotel. Quiet, peaceful, superb service, lovely rooms (with high ceilings and spacious bathrooms) and fine food. The breakfast is excellent! We arrived in Rome for Christmas and a six night stay. We arrived at the Locarno after an unhappy incident on the train. They were immediately in help mode and did everything possible to help our situation. As frequent travellers we understand what makes a great hotel,its staff! It is a wonderful Italian hotel, not a chain hotel whose staff are usually cold and uninterested. I’m so glad I chose Locarno over the array of 5 star hotels on offer. Terry O ‘Grady

This is a unique hotel. Each room is different and I could not find a single detail that was anything less than perfect. Here you get the experience and service of a top 5star luxury hotel with the personable experience of a boutique hotel. The bar has unique drinks on the menu and I definitely recommend the 'Wolf, I solve problems' an enchanting gin based fizz that I have to hold myself from ordering more. Although now it's a bit on the chilly side in the evenings, it's still time to sit in the courtyard terrace that is so quaint with the additional perk of being able to enjoy a cigar. The first thing that hits you when you enter the hotel is the kind smiles of all the personnel. Everyone is so genuinely and warmly nice, that you just feel at home from the first moment. When I left Rome the time I spent at the Locarno left me another warm memory as it had a big part in making my stay most pleasant also for my friends who visited me there. It's not the first time I stay there and surely not the last one either! Finally for those in search of a little more than the the intimate experience, the salons of the Locarno a populated with famous journalists, TV and movie stars, and many faces that you will be familiar with. Of course nobody bothers them with pictures or asks for authographs, in line with the low profile style of the house. I'm very picky on service, and this is one of the very few places I can recommend with no reservations.

I loved this hotel, I have literally never had better service anywhere. You ask for anything and they were there INSTANTLY. Gorgeous breakfast room (no buffet but they take orders and it's delicious). The location was nicely situated, lots within walking distance and Metro, but away from the tourist grind. The rooms were not 100% updated in a hip way, but the beds and linens were very comfy, and honestly the service is worth everything. We stayed in a different hotel with slicker decor the next weekend and the experience was not as good simply because the service was not worth comparing. The staff is superb and I'd love to visit again using this hotel.
