We stayed here for 3 nights in June. Hotel was nice, yes it is a bit out of the city but the bus stop across the road comes every 10 minutes and only short journey into centre, we took 160 bus. We would get it in morning and again at night when we was going back out. Breakfast I thought was okay, good selection. I didn’t try hot food, eggs, bacon and sausages. Plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurts and cereal, toast, croissants, coffee maker, we took our mugs from room as they was bigger. Staff was helpful. You can get kettle and fridge for your room, just need to ask. Hotel bar didn’t seem to be open a lot, just at night for couple of hours. They is a nice deli just next to hotel and a pizza place which sell drinks if you wanting to take some back to hotel, wine, fizzy drinks etc. Vending machines at hotel. They is a sign about travel tax when checking out at reception if you are wanting to work out how much it will be. Overall I thought this hotel was nice and would stay here again. It says 4 star but I would say more like 3. Lovely stay in Rome.

“Pleasant stay”

We had a short but pleasant stay here. Breakfast was not the best we have had but it was enough to keep us going till 4 or 5 in the afternoon when we had our dinner in the city. We had a short but pleasant stay here. Breakfast was not the best we have had but it was enough to keep us going till 4 or 5 in the afternoon when we had our dinner in the city. The location is a bit further out but we used the metro which was a 15 min walk away and it wasn’t a problem. It did mean that we didn’t venture out again after we got back after a day of sightseeing. There doesn’t seem to be much around the hotel itself. Service was good, we had an issue with the safe which was promptly resolved. They packed us a breakfast box as we had an early morning flight. Rooms were clean and comfortable, made up everyday. No complaints at all !

A week in Rome - we read all the reviews on here and as a lot of people were saying about how far out the hotel was, we were a bit concerned as to how we were going to get ourselves into the city etc. We need not to have worried as we used the buses daily and never waited more than 15 minutes for one and the bus stops are right outside the hotel. So close that a couple of nights we went back to the hotel to freshen up after a day of sightseeing and went back out for the evening. It really was not an issue as some people were making out and the buses are regular and so easy to read. The room was clean, spacious and air con working well.. we were on the 8th floor but the lift was very accessible and quick. The shower was great but got ti make sure you are pointing it the right way incase you flood the floor but got used to this..we had a balcony but with no where to sit and next door to us had table and chairs, so I asked at reception if this was possible just so we could sit out there but they said that it wasn't meant to be there and they were only used in the summer🙄 Breakfast was OK, repetitive and same thing every day. Cold scrambled egg and the bacon was so greasy. The fruit juices were terrible, one orange which was just like orange flavoured water and the other one was a luminous green which was meant to be apple I think tasted like Mouthwash. Staff lovely and helpful. Don't eat in the restaurant, we had bruschetta one evening where it was burnt toast with tomato puree spread on it along with carbonara which was so strong with cheese and with penne(that is not carbonara). There is a pizza restaurant and cafe couple of doors up which did some quick bikes and a fab supermarket just down the road on the left which had a massive selection of everything you could possibly want. We wouldn't not come back to Caravel but would explore other areas instead.

“We don't mind a walk in the sun.”

As stated by others it's away from the city but we are walkers and met this issue with ease. Its good to explore locally en route to the bigger attractions. Yes the breakfast is basic but enough to go round and more. We were generally happy with our stay here.
