Don't ever stay anywhere else in Rome. I mean it. The number of reviews I have here is small testimony to the travel we do. Hotel 47 is one of maybe two hotels in the world that treat you like family. The staff goes well beyond what is required. It is concierge service all the way, and at reasonable prices. We have stayed all over the world and we continue to look forward to staying here for the last nineteen years. The staff may change here and there, but the level of service is always impeccable. The hotel itself is a marvel, with well engineered bathrooms, spacious rooms, excellent amenities, wonderful beds, and a great rooftop restaurant bar, with excellent food an unparalleled views. I see here that some people complain about noise but the hotel's rooms have automatic shutters, curtains, and drapes. You can easily cut out the light and sound. But why do that? The rooms in front have that great view of the Foro Boario with its to ancient temples, the Santa Maria in Cosmedin, made famous in "Roman Holiday," and a general view toward the Tiber that is beautiful. You cannot beat the location. We never took any cabs. We walk to Trastevere, the Forum, the Capitoline Hill, the Pantheon, the Circus Maximus, the Colloseum, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, Camp de Fiori, you name it. Here is how good this hotel is. I have listed some of the many attractions of Rome. Well, we consider this hotel one of the main reasons to visit Rome. Seriously, it is as important to us as many of the other attractions and is a primary reason we return to the Eternal City. We say, "Let's go to 47, and visit Rome. They are both spectacular. And it really does start and end with this superb staff.

“Clean hotel, modern, friendly staff and a great location”
Beautiful Hotel, Clean Rooms, staff was extremely accommodating. I would recommend to all my friends and I'll book here on my Next visit to Rome. It's situated in a locations that's very walkable to all the churches, Museums, ruins, coliseum, Spanish step and Trevi fountain, and may restaurants.

“A perfect stay in Rome”
Perfect location for sightseeing of Forum Romanum and the City. Very friendly staff. Nice, comfortable and clean Rooms. Marvelous Roof-top bar with delicious drinks and extensiv snacks Excellent breakfast with rich buffet.

I spent a lot of time looking for that ‘perfect’ hotel in Italy to book for our holiday. I wanted a hotel that was well located, tick that box, a hotel that was clean modern and well presented, tick that box, a hotel that represented great value, tick that box as well. As best as I could establish this hotel would meet our needs. I had really underestimated just how much we would enjoy our stay. What I couldn’t anticipate was just how wonderful, hard working and helpful the staff are. They really made our stay memorable. The daily breakfast was a treat, but the service again was next level wonderful. We dined at the restaurant on one of the nights and the food was generous to a fault. It was well presented and again the staff were perfect. I wouldn’t look at alternatives for accommodation I would just book.

The rooms are clean, lovely and well appointed. Though they could benefit from some additional drawers - lots of living out of a suitcase without them. The shower is nothing short of FANTASTIC. The overall service is attentive and prompt. Room service is very fast and their coffee Americano is excellent. All in all, a very nice hotel. Visitors need to understand its also quite a bit off the beaten path - which some may appreciate, but which also makes things a bit more challenging, You need to walk at least 20 minutes to get to any of the main sights or neighborhoods. There are also no nearby pastry shops, pharmacies, or groceries. This is particularly something to consider for a first time visitor to Rome, but also for anyone looking to pop out quickly and find this and that. We were looking for a hotel close to Trastevere, one of our favorite neighborhoods. Its a nice 20 minute walk across the Tiber via bridge (Ponte Palantino) which is more or less across the street from the hotel. That said, you take your life in your hands at the crosswalk in front of the hotel. Do not step far into it unless you are sure the cars will stop for you. Many will not. If you are looking for restaurants somewhat close by, take a left out the hotel door and then bear left down the street. There is a cluster of restaurants there. Some here have complained about noise, which I suspect is from the traffic. I can certainly see how this might be an issue for some. It didn’t bother us. Sadly, we can’t recommend the food. We tried breakfast, dinner, and room service. The food is passable at best. The hotel is really missing out by not having good food available to its guests. Nothing would be more convenient. Especially after a long day & especially in Rome, where good food abounds! It’s that abundance elsewhere that kept us deliciously well fed during our stay. All of that said, this hotel is really a great value for the wonderful room comforts and the very accomodating & friendly staff.
