The Domus Sessoriana Hotel has been developed in part of a Monastery. It is attached to a magnificent church. The hotel is historic, very clean and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. it is located south of the main Termini Rail station and is close to bus, tram and metro stops. If you like walking, you can walk Rome from here, otherwise hop on local transport. The rooms are fine and clean. Breakfast is typical continental with unlimited tea, coffee, juices, cereal, pastries, bread, cheese and ham... All served on the top floor conservatory with great views. There are local restaurants and cafes nearby..We are a mature couple and loved our 6 night stay.

A very quirky place to stay about half an hour walk from the station, not 15 minutes as some reviews state! It's cheap 3 star hotel but we liked it. Basic room with ensuite but no coffee making facilities. Great roof top terrace and breakfast is continental but plentiful - bread, cheese, meats, cereal, yoghurt, fruit plus juice and tea/coffee. Near to tram stops, St Giovanni Station is less than 10 minutes walk. Convenience store, Japanese restaurant and bar a few minutes walk over the road. The bed was fine but the room was very warm even in February. Take a European plug adaptor as the only charging point is the shaver point in the bathroom. Take advantage of the free water refill and USB charging point outside near the hotel.

This is a unique experience, very unusual and atmospheric. The building is cold by its nature with lots of corridors and tunnels. The rooms are basic, one or two cobwebs, towels and reasonable facilities. There is a hair dryer but no iron. The bedding was limited with a sheet and bedspread and it was cold. There is heating and air con. The shutters and window being closed didn’t drown out almost continuous sirens though we weren’t in the city centre. The breakfast was basic and though it was a buffet, you had to request a serving of anything such as bread or croissants from the staff, some were more friendly than others. It was not the best location, one hour walk to Coliseum and other attractions, nice in sunshine to walk if you can. The HOHO buses are too packed to use which is annoying. The termini station is 30m walk so a little outside the main attractions.
