We had such a lovely time at the Hotel Fontanella Borghese twelve years ago that we sought it out again for this visit to Rome. I emailed the hotel in advance to see if we could possibly get the same beautiful room we had before and were graciously accommodated. The elegance of this boutique hotel is a lovely mix of old world with modern conveniences. The location is superb...close to the Spanish Steps and within easy walking distance of the Pantheon, Piazza Navonna, and other top sites in Rome. The staff was wonderful in marking up the provided map to get us to where we wanted to go. Our room (107) had a king-sized bed (important for my husband and me) that was so very comfortable, a view of the inner courtyard (which meant less street noise), and an incredible inlaid stone floor that reminded us how old the building really is. A lot of delicious restaurants are nearby and of course all over Rome, and the staff was helpful in recommendations and making reservations. We were sorry to leave and will definitely return to this hotel again the next time we are in Rome. We threw our coins into the Trevi Fountain to guarantee our return, which we hope will be soon.

We spent a week at this lovely little “boutique” hotel. Great staff. Khalid so helpful and friendly. Also Connie and Laura. Perfect central location within walking distance of many places we wanted to go, also happening upon unexpected interesting places along the way. We had a comfortable quiet room facing the courtyard. Nice breakfast 7:15-10 am. Would definitely stay there again.

We have stayed here before...7 years ago ....great location...close to almost everything..comfortable rooms ...great breakfast included...this trip we stayed a day before our cruise and had planned three days after the cruise.....Hurricane dorian cut our three days short after the cruise and the owner of the hotel was very empathetic to our situation....she discounted penalties and worked to arrange transportation to the airport....we arrived safely in florida and are currently back to work at a florida hospital that is in the path of dorian The staff at this hotel exceed expectations.....recommend it to anyone

“Fab hotel”
This was a lovely hotel close to a lot of the lovely sites that Rome has to offer. The room was a little small for a family of 4 but it was clean and ok for what we needed. The staff were lovely and really helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel as a good base for a city break. Nice bar just… more
