The location is really the best part of this hotel being 5 minutes from the Trevi Fountain. The rooms were clean, large and very traditionally Roman, almost stately and each room being named after a famous artist/sculpter was a very cute addidtion. Breakfast was brought to us every morning by friendly staff and there was a fairly large choice. You also felt very secure being behind 3 locked gates/doors. If (when) we return to Rome, we will definitely stay here again.

On our second visit to Rome, my wife and I decided to stay in a b&b rather than a hotel. Turned out that our decision to do so was the right thing to do. What can I say…we loved it! Barberini Suites is a lovely place to stay. It is located in an older building and from the street you need to enter through a portico and then enter the building proper. Barberini Suites location is great. Literally a 5 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, 10 minutes to the Trevi Fountain and another 10 minutes from Trevi to the Pantheon. It’s called location, location, location. Also there are many, many restaurants close by. You won’t go hungry. After you go through the portico, the entrance and rooms to Barberini Suites is actually one floor up from ground level. There is a small elevator to use in order to get your luggage up. Once you enter you will, more than likely, meet Allessandro, who will make you feel welcome immediately. Rather than numbers, the rooms have names, and our room was named Giotto. The room, while not huge, was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom very modern and up-to-date. Breakfast was good. For breakfast, you fill out a form the day before and your choices are delivered to the room at a time of your choosing. Definitely order the croissants. They are delicious! Juice, yogurt, coffee and sweets are offered. Enough to get you on your way in the morning. Our first experience in a b&b was wonderful, and we will definitely stay at Barberini Suites if we return to Rome.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Arguably the best location to discover Rome - Trevi Fountain, Barberini Square, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona are all within 15-20 minute walk. We did not have breakfast included, but there is a great breakfast place few doors down, with coffee and croissant for 2 Euro. Barberini Suites is located on 2nd floor of historic building. Access could be cumbersome at night - you have to use 4 different keys to get to your room thru as many gates and doors, but this is part of Rome experience I guess :). Our room was spacious, with separate area with antique desk and wardrobe/closet, so plenty of storahe out of the way. Window facing inner courtyard, therefore quiet with no street noise. Room is well-cleaned and sanitized daily. A couple of issues with the room - A/C did not work properly, no cool air, we had it off. Luckily, it wasn't very hot. Ventilation is poor, we had to open window often, but this is an old building, so to be expected. Mattress is not great, they should consider changing them. Barberini Suites is a winner for the location/price, so few inconveniences would not prevent us staying here again. More upscale lodgings would cost double in the area.

The desk clerk was very nice and helpful. He didn't speak much English but did a great job trying to answer our questions. We loved the proximity of this hotel to so many of the sights. Our room was nice and quiet because it had no view or access to the street noise. The breakfast was good (continental: no eggs or hot food, but the croissants were yummy) It was delivered to our room at exactly the times we requested. However, we felt like the price was a little on the high side. Also, our beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. We will not choose to stay here next time we're in Rome.
