When in Rome, you really have to choose a hotel that's closest to the attractions that you want to visit. Hotel Delle Cinque Lune is in the Piazza Navona neighborhood making it very close to many, many fine restaurants. This is definitely a + + +! It's also walking distance to the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. It's a half an hour walk to St. Peter's Basilica. The hotel itself is clean, quiet and the staff is very, very friendly. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast on the rooftop is superb. You have a fantastic view of the skyline of Rome to go with your morning coffee. But be warned! As the hotel is short on staff at night, do not make the mistake of arriving at the hotel to check in after 2130. Otherwise you'll find the front door locked! To make matters more stressful, the hotel signage is no bigger than a copier paper and it's not even lighted. As a guest, you need to note down the number that unlocks the front door if you plan to return after 2130. Technically, it's a form of curfew so the hotel management may want to rethink this practice since a clueless hotel guest can easily end up spending the night on the street.

This hotel is lovely and in a good area. The staff are friendly. However, the rooms are dark. As a person who likes to put on makeup and do my hair, it was impossible in this bathroom or bedroom. I've traveled extensively, and this is the darkest bathroom I have ever experienced. If you don't care about this, they go for it. It's beautiful and breakfast on the terrace is wonderful. Note that at night the terrace is a restaurant. So if you've bought a bottle of wine and some food and wanted to used the terrace to hang with friends as we did in other hotels we stayed at this is not the spot. But you can enjoy their restaurant on the terrace. If above does not matter to you. Go for it, it's gorgeous. Feels very high end.

This felt more like a 2 star hotel in most ways. They are in a good central location and have a fabulous rooftop breakfast area, but the rest is very average... From the quality of the sheets and towels, to the pleasant enough but generally indifferent service. **A notable exception being Lester in the breakfast room who was always ready to help and say hello. We are lucky, and not bothered by the very loud street and restaurant noise, but others will have to sleep with the shutters and windows closed. With windows open, it's still quite a dark room and the bathroom even darker. With more friendliness and better lighting, this could have been a more memorable stay. Breakfast had a nice selection of breads and proteins. ( Scrambled eggs, ham and cheese) and cappuccino made to order.
