We spent two lovely weeks with the owner and his family, who were extremely friendly, helpful and pleasant. Boy did we manage to relax and unwind. We especially appreciated the peace and quiet of the place, the many shaded areas where to get relief from the exceptional heat (45+ degrees perceived), the beautiful pool with inflatable toys and table football available for the little guests, as well as the playground, table tennis and petanque court. The place is the residence of the elderly owner and thanks to the help of his children it is slowly evolving to become more welcoming and professionally run. I am sure it will get even better in future. A big shout out to the caretaker Larissa, for whom nothing was ever a problem and would always go out of her way to help. We will come back.

We stayed here in August 2009 for 2 nights but could easily have stayed longer and would definately go back. The setting for the Agritrullis is really very special, set as they are within the heart of the beautiful Itria Valley in a truly rural and tranquil spot. The accommodation is of a very good standard combining rustic charm and comfort which is simple and clean with good use made of the space to provide a good standard bathroom and kitchenette. And you have the bonus of the famous conical trulli roof to admire from the inside. The family are great hosts who produce their own tomato sauce, vinegar and jam as well as running other countryside based activities. They pay attention to detail and clearly endeavour to ensure their guests to have a great time. The star though in the end is the beautiful, secluded setting. if you go to Puglia and enjoy a quiet, unique and rural setting that is authentic and low impact, I would recommened this Agritrulli retreat without reseravation.

We stayed at Agritrulli for a week in mid May 2014 and had a wonderful time living and experiencing the local culture, sights and tastes of this beautiful area. The owners here did everything they could to make our stay a really great experience. Tamara was particularly helpful! The trulli itself had great atmosphere and was situated in a gorgeous country setting with a lovely outlook. We were able to explore the local area quite easily by car, from Alberobello to Ostuni, across to beaches on the Ionion Sea and the Adriatic. The trulli is quite basic accommodation but the character and historic value of the place is priceless. If you are expecting 5 star accommodation, this may not be for you but if you want to experience the real Italy and enjoy the ambiance of an open fireplace (in the colder months you will need it) I can recommend Agritrulli.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in February 2013. The owner was very pleasant and very helpful, but it helps if you speak Italian. The trullo is in an excellent location for visiting Puglia - most attractions are just a short drive away, but you really do need a car. There were 2 of us and the size of the trullo was OK, but it would be cramped with 4 adults as there are only 2 comfy chairs and no wardrobe. (We lived out of our suitcases on the spare beds, which are separated from the lounge/dining area by a curtain.) The kitchen is tiny and the oven uses a gas bottle which we turned off at source every time as we thought it might have been leaking. It was a bit like cooking when camping. When we arrived it was bitterly cold and it snowed on the second day. The wind howled through the gaps around the door and windows even with all the shutters closed. The trullo was cold in spite of the heating being on for 12 hours per day and the open fire being lit every night. It was so cold we could see our breath. We had to wear 4 layers of clothing and go to bed early to keep warm. Apparently this is normal for trulli that aren't lived in year round. We had a shock on the final day when we found out the heating is charged at a rate of €2 per hour. The rental company (Casamundo.co.uk) should have informed us of this beforehand but they didn't. We are waiting for them to reply to our complaint. Apparently if you book via Novasol you get a sheet detailing all the charges. The owner very kindly gave us a 10% discount on the heating cost as he was embarrassed that we didn't know about it and he could see how upset we were (it's more than we spend to heat our house in England for the entire winter). This is why we have marked it low for value. The heating bill doubled the cost of the holiday! I imagine it would be lovely in the summer to escape from the heat and the lack of space inside would not be a problem as the outside space is so nice with lovely views, barbecue and so on. There is a well-stocked children's play area and a bocce pitch (?) and the wine that the owner makes is really good.
