“Clean, Newly Renovated Hotel”

We were a party of 8 and we stayed in Potenza as we wanted to visit a small town nearby (Avigliano). We stayed at the Park Hotel for 2 nights. The staff was friendly, the rooms were new and clean... you could smell new carpeting, the rooms and bath were immaculate. You had control over the air conditioning in the room. Really don't have anything bad to say about the hotel itself. However, location is off the Autostrada and there really isn't anything within walking distance except the Autogrill next door which is great for a sandwich/snacks. Then again, not sure we were missing anything by not being in Potenza. Bartenders were nice and when we ordered drinks, we were treated to plates of cheese, olives, bruschetta, peanuts, etc. Front desk staff were very friendly and pleasant. Breakfast was typical Europoean continental fare, nothing special but nothing bad either. If I had a reason to return to this area, would definitely stay here again.

The hotel has underground parking facilities, the restaurant is in need of a refurbishment. All residents during our visit seemed to be located on one floor.

“Spot over Hotel”

My fiance and I stopped over at the Park Hotel Centro Congressi on our drive from Rome to Reggio di Calabria. Was too far to go in just one day. We had the worst time trying to find the hotel, even though we had a GPS. Granted there were major road works going on at the time, but the signage (or lack) did nothing to assist us getting there. Bless the gentleman my fiance came across in a little cafe on the side of the road who said he was heading in the 'general direction' and he would take us there. We seemed to drive around in circles then finally came across one of the hotel signs. This wonderful man actually drive us right to the hotel as he told my fiance (who speaks Italian) that he realised we would never have found it otherwise. So a note to the hotel, whilst the roadworks are going on, it would be helpful to have some large signs on the highway directing people. Once we got there, the hotel itself and staff were very nice. The location is out of the way of any restaurants et cetera so we ate at the hotel. Was OK. Our biggest problem was the airconditioning - or lack of. It was not overly warm, but the hotel room was stuffy and hot. We asked them to check the airconditioning as we couldn't actually hear it working and if you turned the temperature down, it made no difference to the room temperature. They maintenance officer said he checked it and it was working perfectly. I wouldn't like to be there in the hotest weather. It would be unbearable. All in all the hotel served its purpose as a one night stop over. Don't think I would stay there any longer though.
