Had a wonderful week in Grand Hotel Sestriere in March with Crystal. I stayed on the second floor and heard no noise from the disco. We had a standard room looking behind the hotel without balcony. It was big enough for me and my 22 year old son to be comfortable. Upgrade was possible but we didnt feel we needed to. The room was clean and deco nice, with a mini fridge. There is no tea or coffee making equipment in standard rooms. Bathrooms were clean and tidy and there was always hot water. Rooms were warm so we turned off the heating at night. Food : The food was really good. Breakfast had plenty of hot and cold choice, with a good selection of fruit. Buffet was on 4 nights with different theme's, and table service the other nights. The staff were very friendly and attentive, with excellent English spoken by all. Beer was €5 for a large (400ml ) and wine started at €6 for a large glass, and bottles at €30 Sestriere is a good high resort at 2030 that has snow in town when Sauze is bare. It has some challenging Black runs and loads of Reds. There was plenty of natural snow but the weather was very warm with freeze/thaw conditions lower down. so great at the top but lower down very heavy after 2 pm. “Skiing holiday”

Staff were so friendly! Rooms were spotless every afternoon when I came back from skiing! Food was amazing, we had a buffet every other night and a 4 course meal on the other nights. The food was also different every evening for dinner. I have no complaints at all.

Stayed here for a weeks ski trip with my wife, we had a balcony room on the first floor to the right of reception as you go in, we found the hotel staff at reception, dining room & cleaning very friendly, the rooms were warm, clean & plenty of room for storage of clothes, ski gear & cases, the bath was a jacuzzi bath with a shower over, I think they are in all rooms which was a bonus. The food at breakfast & in the evening had enough choice and was not cold as others have said, at least two nights was table service which was a nice change the other nights were 4 course buffet, the food was very good & had a good choice. Buffet had a roast meat every night & a dish cooked by a chef in the dining room eg, Ramen, Pasta dishes, noodles, Sushi. Hotel location wasn't bad we usually do ski in/out so was a bit apprehensive but was a quick walk to the slopes & local bars/restaurants shops if required. We hired skis from Noleggio Sci Da Rosanna which was a 4-5 min walk & was based at the bottom of the ski slope, price included storage of skis & a heated locker for boots gloves etc (hotel boot room isn't heated lockers just racks) although there was a hotel minibus to take you to the slopes we walked as we didn't need to carry skis & could get straight on the après ski after a day on the slopes wearing the trainers we walked down in (we all know the relief of taking your boots off at the end of the day) Drinks in the hotel were same as outside bar prices & from 4:30 Tea, pastries & biscuits were provided free in the bar area. We didn't hear any noise really, occasionally there was a funny smell in the corridors but not in the room, the Wi-Fi definitely could do with improving as it was hit & miss all week. Would we stop again .... yes we probably would

Great location. Lovely friendly staff. Bed quite comfortable, plenty of hot water every day. Most nights the food was plentiful and quite nice. Room very basic and shabby. No mattress protector. Bathroom grotty and held together by black mould and gravity. Very few hooks in room (standard in ski hotels all over the world weirdly). A Night club is very loud from about 10.30pm til 4am which can be heard from 3rd floor. Not sure where it is - not part of the hotel apparently. Food was plentiful and mostly ok but there were some strange evenings! Food not often very fresh, the same stuff is put out several nights in a row, and also again at breakfasts and even afternoon tea. I think they could make less but more often. Some things were a bit stale after a few nights. Puddings look really nice but all taste exactly the same.
