We stayed here for three nights in September. Our holiday had been booked via a well known U.K. airline so no doubt they had negotiated a good discount. It was certainly good value for money, compared with the hotel’s prices advertised on the internet, but our room was a bit ‘tired’. Let’s just say we got what what we paid for. The accommodation was clean with comfortable bed and good shower in the bathroom. Towels were very old though. Air conditioning was excellent. Breakfast was disappointing. We are used to continental but the bread could have been fresher. No cutlery at the table. Tablecloths certainly would have improved the experience. During our stay the staff were very helpful. One huge disadvantage was that the hotel operated an internet key system. The Reception was not manned at certain times of day and you need a mobile phone to enter and unlock your room. This is OK if your phone functions BUT one evening the battery went on ours and we were stuck outside in the road for some time. The hotel is good for transport links to main tourist attractions and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. Don’t necessarily book an organised tour - they can be expensive and you are not always brought back to your hotel. The Coliseum is easy to go around on your own but possibly the Vatican may need a guided tour. The Hop on Hop off bus is very good to use. We enjoyed our holiday very much.

I have very mixed feelings about the place, honestly speaking. Good things: people are really nice. The cleaning lady did an amazing job! And the location is super convenient for all purposes you might have in this amazing city. Breakfasts - very, very basic. Bakery was nice though. No hot food in the morning at all. Only sandwiches and the like. One choice of vegies, one choice of fruits. In September! Juices were freshly squizzed though. Internet was up and down. But maybe that's because we were staying on the top floor. Shampoo and soap are very nice. But the shower is very, VERY small. Can't even imagine how a really big man can fit in, I had some problems, and i am not that big. The most convenient thing about the place is their strange habbit with reception. They do not work in the evenings and nights, and just close the front door, and that's it. To get to the hotel, like after 8 p.m., you have to call a number and ask them! This is very inconvenient. Imagine your phone battery might be dead. You might have no money on the phone. Your phone might be stolen, etc, etc. Then - consider yourself homeless! And the street is very quiet, if you come after 10 and without a phone - there is a zero chance you find a person to make this call instead of you. So inconvenient!
