“Great Hotel, Excellent Staff!”

We absolutely adored the hotel's location because it was so close to all the fantastic shopping and wonderful restaurants. And oh my goodness, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! The rooms are clean, simple and comfortable. I would recommend staying here for your trips to Rome.

Hotel Virgilio did the job for what we needed in Rome. We stayed 4 nights. The room was spacious, clean and renovated (room 202). Bathroom was also spacious, renovated with a power shower (no bathtub, which I preferred). Toiletries were available. The bed itself was quite short, we just fit in the bed (I am 160cm/5ft2). My friend had her feet poking out the bed. Could have had extra pillows though. The lift was old and small and we resorted to using the stairs a lot of the time. The breakfast was simple: toast, eggs, sausage, pastries, etc. Fruit was only if you peeled them, there was no fruit salad or easy access fruit. Juices weren't that nice, and there were no dairy alternatives for coffee, cereal or yoghurt. The yoghurt was full fat and with sugar, so I didn't have it. The pancake machine was cool but the pancakes were very small and took quite a while. Could have had more cheese options as well. The location is very good however, walking distance to most sights in Rome, close Termini station, loads of restaurants, cafes and shops. The concierge was helpful and kept our bags when we arrived early.

“Nice hotel in the center”

Two nights at this hotel. Basic room, modern and good room service. Very good breakfast. Very friendly staff, everything was great, close to the center. The hotel is close to the main train station, so great transport accessibility. Perhaps all sights within walking distance.

Everything about this hotel is simply average. We had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor. The staff were polite at most but looked bored and disinterested in guests. Everything about this hotel is simply average. We had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor. The staff were polite at most but looked bored and disinterested in guests. Pros: Location is good; clean; bed comfortable; daily maid service; quiet if double glazed windows are shut. Average: Breakfast had an ok selection but only 1 coffee machine (with a queue) and ran out of things regularly. Cons: Bathroom tiny - door not able to fully open; Hairdryer mounted on wall in bathroom (drying your hair in a steamy bathroom is impossible); curtains in our 2 rooms did not close (shutters on outside of windows though); bedding consisted of a duvet between 2 sheets which was warm enough but just slid off the bed; Air con was very poor Would I stay here again? No.
