“High class hotel”

I stayed here for 4 nights in September. I'd have given it 5 stars but it is somewhat isolated - you need a hire car or other transport really. The rooms are spacious with very large double beds, bathrooms and a separate dressing room or walk-in wardrobe in my case. The food was tasty and the outside pool area with 2 pools (one is sulphur) and a poolside bar is very relaxing. The weather was perfect in the last week of September. The hotel I believe is closed over the winter. It is well placed for touring Siena and other cities in Tuscany.

“Grand and luxurious spa in an isolated location ”

"Grand" is the best way to describe the incredible decor of this wonderful place! Big marble tiles, sweeping staircases, with Tuscan red and gold coloring throughout. We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon and it was perfect for that purpose. The days are best spent making the most out of the thermal spas, which are the most impressive aspect of this hotel. There are both indoor and outdoor spas (something like 7 in total!) of all different temperatures with a steam sauna and dry sauna too. Entry is included if you are staying at the hotel but you can purchase a day pass if you are passing through. We felt so relaxed after a day in the spas. Plenty of lounge chairs available too. The only limitation to this hotel is that it is in an isolated location so you don't really have options for meals other than the hotel, unless you take a trip by car out to one of the villages. My feedback to the hotel would be to consider expanding the room service menu to include more options and to be available for longer hours. The quality of the food in the restaurant upstairs is fantastic, however the room service menu is lacklustre and pricey (eg 10€ for a small margherita pizza). Surprisingly you cannot hear the highway which is next to the hotel as the windows are thick and the hotel designed looking out to the hills so you forget the highway exists! The reception staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. However, some of the restaurant waitstaff were quite abrupt. Overall, would highly recommend a few nights stay to rejuvenate and relax. Consider staying midweek as it seems to be busy with locals on weekends.

Our group booked day passes here during a two week journey through Tuscany. This spa is gorgeous and stunning and has so many options to enjoy for a day pass, you can easily spend hours here. I could see how boring it would be to stay overnight so far from anything, unless you wanted to read a book or sleep. The caliderium, waterfall pool, saunas, outdoor pool and various massage pools were wonderful and quite impressive, with lots of indoor and outdoor places to lounge with an amazing view. We enjoyed a snack and drinks at the poolside bar, but service took a lifetime since there was only one bartender moving in slow motion, even though there were hardly any customers there. We were not in a hurry, but still the staff here were a little interesting. Shower rooms are very tiny and cramped, being in there with any size group there is a chance you will not get a shower like me, I finally had to use the open shower by the pool with my suit on. Only one toilet for the whole women's shower room, and the hall with lockers and dressing bench is so narrow you can barely walk through to the toilet/shower if another person is standing there or dressing. The few people in our group who had a massage did not have great experiences, they were slathered in oil and lightly slapped all over their bodies, without the slightest muscle pressure. When one asked for a deeper massage the massage therapist said that wasn't possible. (?) They said it didn't feel like she knew where her muscle groups were, just randomly slapping her all over. She literally had to constrain her laughter during the massage. We had a top notch buffet dinner for our group that exceeded expectations, and the view from the restaurant is breathtaking. Our time there was very well spent and well worth it.

For our summer 2018 vacation we, once again, travelled by car from Nord Italy ( region Pustertal - Vals ) where we stayed for one week in Sport hotel Valserhof ( great to be there ! ) and went further on to the south - Pari. A bit hard to find ( even by gps ) due to road works and new infrastructure but once found … a dream. Great resort, fantastic view as well out of the breakfast terrace as from the restaurant where very gentle and skilled waiters guide you through delicious diners - Italian food and great " dolce " :)) !

“Beautiful but boring”

Stayed here for a couple of days to finish a 2 week holiday in Italy. This is a beautiful spa-resort. If you are looking for a spa, this is a good place to visit. Otherwise, you might find it boring. It is located in the middle of nowhere, right next to a brand new highway. Siena, the beautiful city is 30 minutes away. There are literally no places to eat or visit near the hotel. We visited Montalcino and Montepulciano but they are at least one hour away. In short, it is a bit of a golden jail. And jail rules are strict: pool closes at 7:00pm and pool bar at 6:00pm (sharp!). You shouldn’t enjoy the facilities too late....food on premise is very good, breakfast particularly. Dinner was also good but the table and view that comes with it depend on your status with the hotel. Some get the beautiful view on the valley, others get the highway view. Hope for the best. Our room was beautiful and spacious but had no view at all. Perhaps the rate i paid was not high enough to deserve any views. Or was it because i booked online...as for the spa, we booked massages for ourselves. They were below expectations. Not bad but we expected better quality for the price and type of resort we’re in. Overall, disappointed. Would not recommend unless you want to spend time in a secluded place.
