You must stay here 🇮🇹❤️ This hotel is amazing! The staff are lovely people and are always visible, the hotel is small and quaint, the views are incredible we sat most evenings on our balcony watching the sunset with a bottle of wine and fresh olives bought from the shop , the rooms are big and cleaned everyday . Breakfast is really lovely, they bring out a big plate of fresh fruit and large warm croissants, followed by omelettes and fresh tomatoes and breads and loads of coffee .and bruschetta. The restaurant is one of the best I've ever been to , the setting is absolutely beautiful and romantic. We hired a car and we're given a parking permit for the week by the owners , and we went every where , Rome, Pompeii, positano, Amalfi ,Sorrento, so easy to get around and massa lubrense was the quiet we needed , there are beautiful bars just outside the hotel open until 2 am . I would come back here every time

This is absolutely one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in all our trips to Italy! Beautiful old building, spotlessly clean and without a doubt the singly most comfortable bed we’ve ever had in Italy! But the staff are the shining jewels of the experience. Two and a half weeks here, were no where near long enough for us!

When we arrived we couldn't find the entrance, it lacked the sign we saw on Google Street View, and there was no obvious entrance or reception. Went to the restaurant to meet the owner and get the key for the room. The minus: At the time of our stay, the hotel was being renovated. There was no mention of this. There was a lot of doors/windows/building stuff placed in the entrance hall, which was right outside our room. Outside the hotel had a portable room/wc for the workers. The entrance hall was always completely dark because of (what I assume) was a timer for the lights, but on day two or three we found a light switch on the wall so we could see where our door was after dark. This was quite shabby, but when inside the room is was ok, although work outside and in the entrance hall began early almost every morning. There was no information sheet on the desk inside our room. The room: We had the cheapest room, without balcony and facing the busy main street in Massa Lubrense. The room size was big, bathroom also. The shower is what drags down the standard of the room, small and quite old with scrappy doors for the shower cabinet. Aircondition was working nicely. Small fridge with freezer included. Cleaning and new sheets/towels every day, but no "do not disturb" sign to hang outside the door, so a couple of days we had the door unlocked by the lady before she realised we were still there. The plus: The restaurant has very good food. It seems like it's well known in the area, as there were a lot of locals (Italians) dining every night. Almost at full capacity every night. Some nights maybe over capacity, as we had to wait quite long after being seated before being asked for drinks or food. But the quality of the food makes you forget it when it finally arrives. Not at all a cheap restaurant, so maybe don't expect to eat there every day. A bit weird to have to pay cover charge everyday in the restaurant of the hotel you're staying at, but maybe that's normal. We ate breakfast every morning, which was included. The standard breakfast was omelett with sliced tomatos, bread and fruits. Some days we asked for a different breakfast, and all in all it was good. A good tips for someone staying here or in the area is to use the water dispenser in the park, next to the bar Lady's Bar. This water is ice cold and it's so cheap it's almost free.
