Situated on the lake with a beautiful view of the town, Hotel Griso is quite nice. The room has a terrace, is comfortable, the bathroom is convenient and everything works properly, a refrigerator and safe are provided and the AC works very well and is easy to program. We loved the heated towel racks which enabled us to do our laundry which dried in a few hours. We would have appreciated a comfortable chair so we didn’t have to sit in the bed to read and relax. The breakfast has a huge buffet which includes many pastries, and you can get pancakes but not omelets to order. Because the hotel is built into a hill, the layout is quite strange and confusing, and the rooms are below the lobby. The restaurant which is on the top floor has a gorgeous unobstructed view of the lake.

This hotel is across the street from Lake Como on a quiet residential street. We had a room facing the lake with a somewhat partial view through some trees. We stayed three nights and found the room to be roomy and clean. Their were two narrow twin beds that were okay but definitely not overly comfortable. The patio area was very roomy and showed a better view than from the room. The breakfast room had a wonderful view and the breakfast was very good. You are within walking distance to the city area but you must walk over to the bridge as the city is on the other side, so if you are tired from your travels, you might not want to walk that far again. Nothing much on the hotel side. We did enjoy our stay and found the city area to be very interesting.

What a pity . I was in this hotel eight or nine years ago and it’s really taken the down fall. The hotel needs urgent renovation but what’s needed urgently is maintenance. What a pity . I was in this hotel eight or nine years ago and it’s really taken the down fall. The hotel needs urgent renovation but what’s needed urgently is maintenance. Starting from basic things like painting the railings in the balcony at fixing the tv which was not working at all since the channels was not programmed. The only rewarding thing is the magnificent view . Make sure to ask for a room on the 6th floor where the view is the best if you decide to visit . The restaurant in the evening wasn’t really good at all and the staff not helpful. The breakfast was pretty basic but the staff was very kind . Cleaning of the rooms and the corridors is necessary .
