I have been to Brescia once before and stayed in a fantastic boutique hotel, the Locanda Delle Mercanzie however it was fully booked and instead I stayed at the Albergo Orologio which is not that far away. This traditional styled hotel is in an excellent location wight in the heart of the centre of the old town and with a huge array of restaurants and bars within just a few seconds of walking! It’s also only a five or six minute walk with a wheeled bag from the Vittoria Metro station. Very convenient. Check-in was easy, the receptionist greeting with a smiling face, giving advice, telling you about the hotel etc. It always makes you feel better when you arrive at a hotel and the staff are so warm and friendly! I had booked a single room but ended up in a double room. Wifi was excellent, a fridge in the room, toiletries, plenty of plug points, air-conditioning (although turned off at this time of year), a TV, seat and desk, a small safe (passports and small items…too small for a laptop). The room and bathroom were very clean. The furniture was old but it suited the character of the hotel. Old style, almost boutique like. Breakfast was delicious. Superb coffee and made for you by the waitress. Buffet style cereals, yoghurts, breads and croissants, cake cold meats and cheese. Maybe not the greatest variety but it was all tasty and I enjoyed it. Overall I thought this hotel was quaint, it was convenient, it was clean, very well priced and the staff were friendly. I would definitely consider staying again if I return to Brescia.

The location of the hotel is unbeatable! Parking: We specifically chose this hotel for its parking options, but upon arrival, we were informed that only public parking is available nearby, which was not what we expected. Room: The room was fine, but the bathroom is in urgent need of renovation. Noise: Our windows faced a busy street filled with bars and cafés. Fortunately, the window quality kept the noise to a reasonable level. Staff: The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast: Breakfast was perfectly adequate, though don’t expect anything fancy—no fried or boiled eggs, just the basics.

Albergo Orologio was a rustic hotel in the heart of the old town in Brescia. We had booked a double room for 6 nights. After 2 nights in room 13 ( which sits directly over the Irish Pub) we requested another room as the loud noisy pub went on until 1am.The staff were accommodating and moved us to the third floor to room 31 which was a lot better. We had requested hot water for a thermos so as we could make our own cup of tea and they also gave us some milk. The room did have a fridge that had space for food. Conad is very near this hotel and is a great place to buy prepared food. Apart from the Irish pub we found our stay comfortable and the staff very pleasant. The breakfast was simple being cold cuts, cheeses, fruit juices. If you stay at this hotel you are very near the castle that is easily reached by walking up the hill.
