We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Desiree in Sirmione. It is very clean and they have some amazing lake view rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Desiree in Sirmione. It is very clean and they have some amazing lake view rooms. They offer English and Continental breakfast options and the food is high quality. Staff are delightful and bend over backwards to assist you and make your stay as pleasant as possible. The pool is a gem and lined with pine trees which offer adequate shade. There are tables by the pool where you can have a pic nic al fresco, such a treat! The hotel is in a lovely location inside the town walls, at a walking distance to the best beaches on the peninsula and the town centre. We parked our car outside the walls and the walk from hotel to the car park took 13min. We enjoyed staying at the Desiree Hotel and we hope to be back. We highly recommend it

The hotel was well positioned within walking distance of the main town of Sirmione but far enough away to have some peace and quiet. We were upgraded to a lake view room, the view was lovely & the sunsets beautiful. The room was quite basic but the bathroom had been recently upgraded & was really nice. The pool area was nice however there were a lot of mosquitos about (beware) & leaves in the pool as it is surrounded by trees. Breakfast was nice enough, can order eggs but this is an extra charge. We had a snack by the pool one day which wasn’t the best. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming in our experience. If travelling by train, we would advise walking down into the town of desezano and getting the ferry over as our experience with the main bus / shuttle bus up to Sirmione wasn’t very reliable. The way back we got the ferry & it was much more pleasant.

The hotel is well positioned a 5 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the town. No car needed unless you need to use it to explore the area (although the boats work just fine). There is a pretty garden and pool which is a must for July. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average, the same everyday. The staff did replenish items as they were taken from the buffet. As a family of 4 we booked the villa to give us a bit more space. When searching for suitable access I had found it difficult to find a set up where we didn’t have to share 1 room. The villa was clean and spacious with 2 bedrooms downstairs (a double room and one with 3 singles). Plus a bathroom with a shower. Upstairs was a double room and a bathroom with bath. Housekeeping came everyday. It was tired and could do with modernising. There’s no Wi-Fi (could be a good thing), you need to go into the hotel reception to use it. NB if you want to eat meals in the villa this may be difficult. There is no supermarket. You need to go to the next town (15 minutes bus journey).
