We stayed here a number of days while exploring the delights of the Lake Garda area and wider norther Italy. The hotel is excellently located for the railway station where one can easily get to Milan, Verona or Venice. However it is a simple brisk walk from the lakeside and harbour area. Those who walk regularly would find no difficulty but others may use the bus or local taxi to reach the shore. From the harbour one can rent a boat or take a ferry further across the lake. The pool is excellent on a warm day, and there is also the alternative of a sun deck on the roof with a Jacuzzi. There is a nice bar so one can relax with a spritz if desired. The rooms were pleasant and airy with a balcony. The only minor gripe is there could be more power outlets for the modern traveller with phones and tablets to recharge. The bathroom was good with a bidet and shower. Again, a minor gripe that the shower door dripped outside the tray leaking water over the floor which required ample towels to mitigate. On the catering side they were very very good with dietary requirements and provided menu alternates whenever required, and gluten free alternatives were made available at every breakfast.

“Decent hotel.”

Hotel was clean and well laid out. Room we had -116- overlooked the rear. No decent view. Room compact but ok. Bathroom small and awkward. Shower cubicle very small. Breakfast good. Bed good. Hotel was clean and well laid out. Room we had -116- overlooked the rear. No decent view. Room compact but ok. Bathroom small and awkward. Shower cubicle very small. Breakfast good. Bed good. No kettle/hot drinks in room? Asked for kettle but was refused. Bar area nice but under-used. Pool small but welcome. Roof has excellent terrace with great views, seating, sun beds and jacuzzi. As mentioned by others, the matriarch is ever present. She did not acknowledge us on any occasion - not even a smile, or a ‘Buongiorno’. Shouted a lot at her staff. This was not detrimental to our stay however, as the other staff were friendly. Strangely you have to ask for the air-con to be switched on in the room? The hotel was a good 20 minute walk downhill to the lake and 25 mins back. Only 5 min walk from station. Would stay again.

“Ok Hotel for the older traveller”

Nothing happens unless the Matriarch deems it so. Check in ok. Room average but mattress way to soft for us. This hotel is predominately used by the older generation of traveller. Nothing happens unless the Matriarch deems it so. Check in ok. Room average but mattress way to soft for us. This hotel is predominately used by the older generation of traveller. It up on a hill so be aware you have a long walk down and long walk back up to your hotel. We required and requested an iron so we could press a few of our heavily creased clothes. Apparently this wasn’t allowed and their staff have to do it giving them the opportunity to try to charge us the full cost of cleaning and pressing aswell. We argued this and had the charges greatly reduce as we were only pressing the clothes which takes a few minutes each garment so be careful. Breakfast quantity and quality very very good
