We stayed at Villa Casanova Lucca for one night in early October, at the end of a 10 day stay in Tuscany. I am so sorry we had only one night to enjoy this remarkable hotel. I chose the hotel because of its relative proximity to the Pisa airport, its location near Lucca, and because of its beautiful setting. The hotel was all that I hoped for and more. What an extraordinary hotel. We have stayed in some spectacular hotels and I must say that the suite here at Villa Casanova equaled or exceeded ones that cost 3 times as much. All the appointments were luxurious, understated, and superb.The web site pictures do not do justice to the quality and ambiance of the rooms. The bathroom, itself, was larger than some of the rooms in five star hotels! The public spaces are beautiful. Unfortunately, the day we arrived was rainy and cold. As a result we were unable to use the magnificent pool and fully appreciate the outdoors. But the hotel setting is spectacular and the views provided a wonderful last impression of Bella Toscana. The owners were friendly, kind, and provided excellent recommendations for dinner. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort. We had to leave early the following morning, so did not have breakfast at the hotel. I am unable to comment on the quality. In short, I can't imagine a better way to end our vacation. Should we return to this area, we most definitely will stay here again.

What a fabulous experience we had during our stay this w.end, overlooking the mystic hills of Tuscany with its diffuse light, inspiring many artists around the globe, is the added value of this boutique style hotel. The proprietors, assisted by there daughter, are passionated folks with a nothing is to much service level, the suites are huge and spotless. The breakfast is fresh, the coffee brilliant, and a good selection bread,cold cuts, cheese, fruits en so on. This Is Italy at its greatest, GRANDEUR.

“Peace and quiet with comfort”

We enjoyed a very pleasant experience at this Villa. The family who run it, mainly Madame is very friendly and accommodating. The views are great, sadly apart from a few pylons which are visible amongst the trees from the Villa as about half a mile or so away. We had an amazing suite which had a ginormous bed which was so comfortable . The linen is excellent. Quite a lot from the White Co. as well as local Italian fare. The setting and location are very good and tucked away. Lucca is about 15 mins drive if that and a lovely place to visit. The breakfast is good but not exceptional but the way they cooked the bacon was so tasty. Tiny pieces wafer thin and then fried. It has a feeling of grandeur of the once magnificent residence it must have been. It is still grand but a bit tired in areas.The bathroom and shower are. massive . We found lots of places to visit near to this place. There is currently no in house dining but you can get a light lunch if you want. I understand that the current Italian company who own the villa are going to reinstate the restaurant . This would be a good idea. The pool looked lovely if a little green but it was freezing cold to swim in as not heated. As we visited in the autumn, it was not heated enough by the sun and being up in the hills, it gets cooler at night and in the mornings. That was a shame. Overall the comfort, peacefulness and hospitality make this a very nice place to stay a few nights. It is tucked away so you definitely need a car. Would revisit.

My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon in Tuscany. We stayed in the deluxe suite and absolutely loved the place. The suite was gigantic by Europe standards with incredible bathroom and jacuzzi tub. The hotel is great but do know that it's very secluded and about 20-25 minutes away from the old town. Taxi's are very expensive into the city from the hotel and dinner is not available in the hotel, so you'll either have to be willing to drive at night or take an expensive taxi (35 euros each way) into town. Overall, we loved staying there and is in a gorgeous setting.
