“Comfortable, convenient and closeby to the center of town...”

Comfortable, large rooms with wifi, a/c and nice bathrooms. The staff, especially the manager was great, very helpful with information concerning the ferries to Portofino and San Fruttuoso as well as other trips to neighboring towns and sights. Breakfast was optimal!

This is a great hotel, especially when you look at its location and price. The facility itself is old and established. But, it is well maintained and very quaint. In the heart of Rapallo it is only a 5 minute walk from the train station and about the same from the harbour, restaurants, bars and beach. If you are heading to Portofino the bus station is just up the block. The rooms are a little dark because of the heavy wooden storm shutters, but they can be raised to let in more light. The air conditioner works well and cooled down our room quickly. The bed is very comfortable and full sized. The bathroom is small as is the European standard, but the shower is unique and spacious. The lobby has a large sitting area with a full sized flat screen TV to watch what seems like a perpetual soccer game (I hate that sport anyway). Off the lobby is a nice garden area where you can sit quietly and enjoy a glass of wine and cigar if you wish. The staff, although limited with their English are friendly and helpful. We arrived early well before our room was ready and they stored our bags in a safe area while we toured portofino. When we returned, they had placed our bags in our room. Breakfast is included in the price, however I am not able to review it at this time because of an early departure. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore the area or to discover Rapallo, which I feel is a hidden jewel of the Italian Rivera. If you are looking for a 5 star Hilton stay, keep looking. But if you want a flavor of Europe at a good price in a great location, this is it.

“Isolated but cute”

We spent a week end in this hotel, it's 10 minutes walking from the train station and the center of Rapallo. The receptionist was nice but she should be more friendly with the guests... especially during the check in! Anyway, the room was clean and spacious. The breakfast is from 8am to 10am, you can find sweet and salty food! That's great. Good price-quality!

“Excellent hotel BUT Noisy aircond! ”

Initially we booked lido hotel which was infront of the castle, but at the last minute additional family members decided to join, we had to cancel that booking and booked 2 rooms at the Mondial. The good thing about this hotel is its only 5 mins walk awal from the promenade and shops. It also have a parking garage that you pay €15 per day. No hassle of finding own parking like lido hotel. The breakfast spread was great! croissants and cakes. My only reason to drop one star off is the airconditioning. It will sound like someone about to start a motocycle, really loud, and shaking. And after 10 mins it will go silent. And few mins later the loud rattling noise. On the first night, we decided to switch off the aircond whilst sleeping. But the second night it was too hot, and we had to switch on with interrupted sleep because of the noise. we have already told them on the first night the aircond was too noisy, but perhaps they cant fix it, and let it be. If you are disable or have a stroller walking up and down the hill will be a bit troublesome.
