“Terrific Hotel - Truly Wonderful People!”
We were in Florence getting our daughter set up for a semester abroad and had the good fortune to stay at the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi. Unfortunately, about 6 hours into our trip, my wife stepped off a curb, hit the cobblestones and broke her ankle. In an ancient city, nothing is wheelchair friendly. T… more
We were in Florence getting our daughter set up for a semester abroad and had the good fortune to stay at the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi. Unfortunately, about 6 hours into our trip, my wife stepped off a curb, hit the cobblestones and broke her ankle. In an ancient city, nothing is wheelchair friendly. The ENTIRE staff at the hotel - front desk, restaurant, housekeeping, bar staff, concierge and the gentlemen that would work the chair lift where absolutely amazing. The hotel was beautiful, clean and offered everything you could ask for...but all of that was eclipsed by the people. They were the most accommodating, helpful, compassionate and caring group I have ever experienced. They literally took care of everything we could need - a wheelchair, a mountain of pillows to prop up her leg, lovely tea service, delicious food, cabs, wheelchair friendly restaurants - simply everything making our terrible situation as enjoyable as possible. We cannot wait to return!!!

“Five-Star Service and I was not even a Guest. Very Grateful!”
As one does walking in a new city after dark, I got turned around. With 2% phone battery, I walked into Plaza Hotel Lucchesi cold and a little worried. My concern disappeared with the sincere kindness I was extended by the lounge staff. Grazie mille!

The hotel is looking a little outdated and old. Could really use an update. It was very warm in our room due to the unusually hotter weather in Nov.. the air conditioning was turned off for the year. The windows had a warning regarding mosquitoes when opened. Couldn’t help it and had to open a window to sleep and woke up to several mosquito bites. Yes, they warned me, but it was way too hot in the rooms
