“Great hotel in a perfect location”

Lovely hotel in a perfect location. We stayed in a deluxe room which was large by European standards. Lovely hotel in a perfect location. We stayed in a deluxe room which was large by European standards. Our room was clean and fresh when we checked in and housekeeping kept it tidy for us the two nights we spent at Palazzo Niccolini. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast room is bright and welcoming with typical European breakfast offerings. We totally enjoyed our two night stay.

“Florence is a wonderful city to visit”

It was in such a handy place to many of other sites, our room looked straight to the Duomo, I think her name was Alana, she was lovely and very helpful. Their breakfasts were great also. An old building, 400 year’s old but kept in great condition

Situated directly opposite the Duomo, the location is pretty unbeatable and an easy walk to e.g. the Uffizi. Situated directly opposite the Duomo, the location is pretty unbeatable and an easy walk to e.g. the Uffizi. We stayed in the Royal Deluxe Suite, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful I've ever stayed in. Spacious and spotlessly clean, the bedroom, sitting room and bathroom were all gloriously elegant with 18thC frescos on walls and ceilings, lots of period furniture and detail and uninterrupted views of the Duomo from every window - even from the bath! Staff seemed pleasant enough: we had little need to test their helpfulness so can't really comment on that. The place does lose a star though for a couple of things. Firstly, while it's great there's a coffee machine in the room and plenty of pods I'd have liked a kettle too as tea from a coffee machine is pretty awful. The hotel provide a help yourself afternoon tea in the breakfast room, but that's time limited and inconvenient. My second quibble is the breakfast. It was all buffet and there was a pretty broad spread, but the staples (for me anyway) of orange juice, bread and eggs were all pretty awful. The juice wasn't fresh and tasted rather unpleasant, the bread was mainly small hard rolls and the eggs...oh dear. There was a choice of scrambled (tasted like they'd been sitting there a while: tepid and soggy) or boil your own. My husband left an egg for 10 minutes in the barely simmering water bath contraption that was weighing down the buffet table and it was still uncooked. Better breakfast basics and a kettle in the room and the Palazzo Niccolini would have been perfect.
